HI Everyone!!

Wow, has it really been over ONE year since my last post. I totally dropped the ball on this blog as well as any crafting. This past year has been one filled with many trials, but alongside that, it was also filled with much more joys. My niece came to live with us for a year turning us into a family of 6! WOW, it was interesting to say the least. She was a freshmen in highschool, so I had kidlets ranging from preschool to highschool. Three different schools, 4 sets of homework, many different after school activities, etc, etc. I'm sure most of you know the meaning of "etc, etc..."

When summer finally came around, I was able to relax and found some creativity. I haven't scrapped any layouts yet, but I have done bunches of other things. I'm still doing lots of cards, here are a few I've made. I have many more and I'll post those in a few days. These are all made from scraps. I'm trying to use up the plethora of goodies I have before buying anything new.

Color Me Miki August kits!!

You guys are in for a real treat at Color Me Miki...the August kits are UP!!! Terri is featuring 3 kits this month and they are packed, perfect for summer, and each kit is has a great price. I was lucky enough to have 2 kits to play with this month. First up is the main kit, Summer Coolin', featuring Pink Paislee's Bayberry Collection mixed with Prima, Hambly, and Glitz. Mostly everything you see on the layouts are from the kit. I only added the little October Afternoon letters from the mini-kit, Summer Relaxin'

Summer Coolin' -- $25

I was very excited to start on our vacation photos from the Philippines.

This is the place we stayed when were in Tacloban City, Leyte. I love how these 4 kidlets get along so well! I love these flowers! I used the Pink Paislee Cottage Pleats and curved it into a circle. I used glue dots to hold it down and added the button from the Summer Relaxin' kit.

This was taken on Day 3 at Ate Helen's resort, Villa Irma Grace. We were in the water...ALL.DAY.LONG! We didn't realize until the next day how burned we all were. We did put sunscreen every few hours, but jumped right back in the ocean...must have washed off! The water was perfect. It kept us cool when it was so hot, then it kept us warm when it got breezy in the evening.

Finally, just a bunch of pictures from the beach.

Gosh, looking back at these pictures makes me miss the Philippines so much. It was wonderful to be with family, just relaxing and hanging out. Now...it's back to reality...working, fixing up the house, and school in a couple days! ACKKK!!

I'm back...I'm back!!

Hello everyone! I'm finally back after being on vacation for the past 5 weeks....yes....5 WEEKS! I've never been gone that long, but it's so good to be back home. Since we've been home, we've been doing lots of home projects...painting, replacing the screen door, replacing the kitchen faucet, and mostly reorganizing the garage! I'm exhausted, but we still have plenty to do...

I also realized I never posted my June projects from Color Me Miki!! Here is the fabulous kit...I love the Prima flowers and esp the pearls!!

Unfortunately I was only able to complete 2 layouts before we left. I did make some teachers gifts, but didn't get a chance to take pictures :( It was really CRAZY the last few weeks before our trip!

First up is Baby Ethan....man, this kid is super cute!! Our friends from LA spent a few days with us last March. Ethan is the newest member of their family...

And here is a layout with pictures from our friend's visit. Every trip to SF requires a view of the bridge!

That's all I've got for now. I do have some older layouts that I have not posted..I'll get those up soon. AND....I've also got the August and September Color Me Miki kits!! I still need to do July, but I'm itchin' to play with August :)

Happy Happy Mommy DAY!!

This is a bit belated, but I wanted to wish you all a....

HAPPY MOMMY's DAY!

Yes, I still call my mom...Mommy! I love her so much and am so thankful for all she does for me and our family....always!

Here are some cards I created for Mother's Day. One was sent to my Mother-In-Law and the other was for my mom. For the circle card, I used one of the die cuts that came in the kit. I mounted it on a 6x6 card made from the cardstock in the kit. Then I trimmed around the die cut, making sure to leave a length of fold at the top. I used scraps for the card and some misc. embellies from past kits. Flowers, stickles, and ink from my stash.

And some layouts..... OMG, this kid is so cute! He really is the heartbreaker in the family. Maybe it's because he's the baby, but I love how sweet he is (but only to me!) He'll just come up to me with hugs, kisses, and lots of love! But he sure is the most mischievous one for sure! The light blue background with journaling is from the die cuts packaging.

Have you gotten into the banner craze yet? I did with this kit and I need MORE! Different things going on in this layout. The frame that goes over the photo, all the circular action, and I cut out "springtime" from the background paper to give some depth. Other than that, pretty simple, just a bunch of papers and stickers...

Final layout for today....Jasmin and Sami. They've been friends since Jasmin was born. Sami is a year older than Jasmin, but I love how close they are. Sami rode with us during the car ride to SF. They seriously chatted the WHOLE time! It was really cute, esp since they only see each other a couple times a year since she lives in LA.

This is all for now. I've got one more post using the Color Me Miki May kit. Guess what....soon I'll have in my hands the June kit!! I can't wait to get started.

Oh, in other news...about 1 more month to go before our huge mega Philippines vacation! I can't believe it's almost time. I've been going super speed mode in scrapping Holy Land pictures...LOL. I'm ALMOST done!! I've got 1 more tourist day and the last pictures at the airport. I won't scan all of them, but I do have a few favorites. I'll share those with you soon..

Color Me Miki--May kit--Alterations!

Hello May!! It's so nice to see all the sunshine and warmth we've had the past few days. No sight of rain in the near future...woohoo!! May's kit from Color Me Miki is perfect to go with those sunshine filled days! This kit is filled to the brim with 10+ sheets of paper from Prima, Little Yellow Bicycle, and October Afternoon. Embellies include FULL packs from LYB, Sassafrass, and OA...alphabet not pictured, but it's sooo pretty!

I was able to bust out a bunch of projects from this kit....6 layouts and 4 cards...and I still have more scraps left over. And you know me, I use the patterned papers as my background, and I still worked it...LOL! I love this kit...swoon.....

Let's get on with the show :) First up a card. At this point I was running out of letters so we needed to figure out some words! Worked out well since Jasmin has a bunch of classmates turning 7 this year! I added the brad and chipboard frame from previous kits and buttons and ink from my stash.

I had so much fun making those roses. The yellow and blue are from the ribbon pack. But the pink one was a strip of patterned paper. I crinkled the heck out of it then rolled it up. I am so in love with the banner action. Makes all the layouts look so festive! I added gems and ink from my stash.

And the last one for today....I'm totally going through all our pictures from our time at SF. So many fun and inspiring photos! I was running out of "y" at this point. The "h" was perfect upside down! Flowers and brads and buttons from previous kits, gems and ink from my stash.

Nazareth and Caesarea

I can't believe we leave for the Philippines in less than 2 months!! I'm starting to really stress out and become anxious. We'll be gone for 5 weeks...ack!! Never in my life have I been gone from home for so long. Even when we were younger going to the PI we would be gone for 4 weeks max!! Thank goodness for the internet! At least I could still use email and pay bills..LOL.

This brings me to my next project...I really want to get the Holy Land pictures scrapped already. I do a few, then stop, then do a few...then stop! It funny, when I first started scrapping them, I used practically every picture. Now I'm throwing out more and more! And the pages are not as detailed...it's all about getting it done! LOL...

I'm not too fond of this layout at all. I think the pictures are not that great (indoors) and it just didn't motivate me. We (magpoc family) didn't get off the bus for this town. We were so tired and I wanted the kids to rest a while, it was a bit of a walk to get to the church. Here is Nazareth. The town where Jesus grew up!

The final stop for the day was Caesarea. It was once a thriving port on the edge of the Mediterranean. Here is our big group! I can't find Jordan in the picture though :(

Since I couldn't find Jordan in the last picture, I highlighted him in this picture...LOL. So glad he went for it...what a great photo op! This layout was made for a challenge from Scrapping Spot. Shawn, who hosts Nuts About Sketches, created this cool sketch. I can't find it on her blog, but it's posted at The Scrapping Spot. I changed it up a bit and used a bunch of scraps!!

Okay, that's it for now!! I made a card this past weekend, but gave it away before I had a chance to scan it...dang, I liked it, too! LOL. I also have another layout to scan....time, oh dear sweet time, where art thou??

Color Me Miki and Willow Traders...

I have been a scrappin' fool lately. I've been in withdrawals with all the busyness of life. I started a temp job that requires me to work 5-11pm! Sometimes even later if it's busy. I'll be missing TV time with hubs and scrapping time with me :) Most of all, I'll be missing the nightime routine with the kids...homework, dinner, baths, and bedtime. I think Joey is having a hard time with the adjustment. Jasmin doesn't like it either, but she's dealing with it. And Jordan...well, he's 10, he's not that interested in me as much as the other two...LOL.

Anyway, I've created a card and a couple layouts. These are all made from Color Me Miki scraps. I still have so much from her kits even though I bust out a bunch of layouts and cards each month. They are so packed and at such a great price!! I'm really leaning toward getting the Going Cute kit from March. I love the banners!! Check out all the great layouts Terri created with the kit. Dang...LOVE it!

Anyway...here are some projects.... First up a simple card. I think most of my cards look similar! Oh well, at least I got some scraps used up :)

This layout was created for an April THAW challenge over at Willow Traders, spell out a number. I didn't have anymore "s", so I used "z". Pretty cheezy :)

Finally, this was based on a sketch challenge. Used a bunch of scrap pieces for this layout.

I did a couple more layouts last night since I couldn't sleep. I think I was up until 2am. Hopefully I can get used to this temp job. Man, by the time I get home at 11pm and take a shower, I'm WIRED!! I toss and turn for a few hours. Last night I decided to scrap. At least I got something done...LOL! I'll be posting more after I add some journaling and scan them.

Willow Traders--April THAW

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm so happy to see the challenges up again at Willow Traders. They started this type of set up last year...THAW...THree A Week...meaning 3 challenges will be posted per week. And they are doing it again...woohoo! I won't be able to scrap as much as I'd like since I'm starting that temp job at the bank soon, but I'm glad they post the challenges at the same time. This way I can scrap when I get a chance.

I snuck in some time last night while the boys went to Costco and Jasmin and I were crafting. I managed to get 2 layouts done :) Both these layouts are done with scraps from all the past Color Me Miki kits I have. I've been on the Design Team since Dec. 2008. Even though I scrap so many layouts, cards, and projects with her kits, I still have loads left over. I decided to go through them and use it up!!

This is THAW #1--it was based on a sketch. These pictures are still coming from our Sunday lunch back in Feb....

This is THAW #3--recycle something. Back in January I completed some challenges over at The Scrapping Spot. One of the ladies sent over a RAK, Vera...all the way from Guam! She included a piece of cardboard so the stickers and such would not bend. I decided to use it for this layout. "Epic," Jordan says it all the time! I even had him do the journaling :)

Today we are heading over to SF after work. I'm hoping to get some more time later tonight to scrap. It was sooo fun! Thanks for passing by :)

Color Me Miki April kit--Happy Joy Joy

Happy Happy April, everyone! Wow, already into our 4th month of 2010. I'm happy to report today is the first day of Easter break for the kids. Although I have work today and all of next week, I do have tomorrow off..LOL. We were so busy in the month of March. I got some scrapping done in the beginning of the month, then halfway through we had visitors, had outings, and just other life happenings. So last night I busted out most of the layouts here. *yawn*, finally at 2am, I called it quits.

Let's get on with the show, shall we..... I'd like to present Happy Joy Joy from Color Me Miki. Lots of fun stuff from new My Mind's Eye. I esp love the Prima fabric tree and wanted to use it for a special layout. And check out the Thickers....love the glitter action, man!! Here is the kit, click to see a larger image.

Here are a couple quick and easy card. I used the cute die cuts for both and work especially well with children's card. Here's one for a baby shower...this is pretty small, measuring only about 4x4".

This card measures 6x6" and used a play on words...Hoppy Birthday..LOL. What a dork! I used Making Memories tiny alpha found in the Miki Mart!

I was really torn about cutting off the edges, but since I scrap the kids' layouts in the smaller format, I just went with it. The next few layouts were all taken on the same day at the restaurant we ate, Kinders. Yum...BBQ! For this layout I used the Prima packaging from the fabric tree. I also used stickles found in the Miki Mart! I only added ink for the edges and a tiny gem on top of the green button. Oh...the glitter "o" in the flower, that came from the Thickers alpha...LOL!

These two are seriously funny. I love their free spirit, esp Joey! Man, that kid. I used the "frame" from a heart I cut out below. I had used the "frame" to mist a heart, but it didn't work out too well. But I did some misting on a layout below...fun!! Only added ink for the edges, ribbons, and a gem.

Here is the heart I cut out from above. I'm so embarrassed about this photo, but I needed it to complete the family...LOL. Dang, I look like a complete dork, esp right next to my handsome fella! Added some ink for the edges (my signature trademark!), ribbons, and the bling. I also used the Prima packaging for the journaling.

And my final page from this kit....St. Patrick's 2009. This is the layout where I used the Maya Mist, also in the Miki Mart! First I wanted the actual heart misted, but it looked wrong for the layout. So I used the heart and misted around it. Then I outlined the heart to have it stand out a bit more. Added Stickles to the scalloped edges (cut out from the owl paper) also used it on the fabric tree. I love that fabric tree. And this is the perfect layout for it!

Mount Carmel

I've gone back to scrap more Holy Land pictures. I think I have about 4 more days to go....YES!! It's so wonderful to relive these memories. It's so sweet to see the kids even just 2 years ago how small they were. I still can't believe we managed to take an 8, 4, and 1 year old half way across the world to 4 different countries for a very busy 15 days!! And to think this summer we will be taking a 10, 6, 3 year old to the Philippines for 5 weeks!! Wow, I'm getting so much anxiety just typing that out. It will be fun...but a little bit stressful at times I'm sure! I'm so thankful that we will once again be in a big group and I can't wait to see all our relative back in the PI. The last time I went back was 1994 and Heintje...1989!

Anyway, here are a few layouts from Mount Carmel. This layout was part of The Scrapping Spot's Scrap Your Stash challenge. It's a challenge I hosted using 20+ brads. We arrived a bit early for the gates to open, so we just sat around and rested a few mintues. I so much love this photo of Jasmin and Heintje. Very rarely will she let him hold her anymore..LOL. I plan to enlarge this and stick it in a frame or canvas. It's so beautiful!

We all gathered on the roof where we could see the vast land God promised the people of Israel. While on the roof, we heard and saw fighter planes! It was kinda scary, esp. for the kids. This is another challenge layout, using 5+ ribbons.

Finally, the kids hanging out while Kuya Greg led us all in prayer. Jordan had his own little prayer group going on..LOL. OMG, look how tiny Joey was :( Gosh, these past few years just went by tooooo fast :(

A couple random layouts

What the heck? Another post! Yeah for my blog :)

These layouts were just done...no challenge, no DT work...nothing! But I did get a chance to use up a bunch of stuff. Totally random goodies that I found laying around. Do they match? Not really. Are they all the same mfg? No. Does it work all together? I don't know, but as my friend always say....what's done is done! It works for me, the pictures are scrapped, and the memory is saved!

These pictures were taken last year, June. Jasmin, my mom, and I were busy getting treats together for her end of the year class picnic. We put together flower cookies. I saw it on a scrappy blog, but the ones we made are much more simple compared to what I saw. These were for little kinder kids and we had to make 40!! Either way, the kids LOVED them!! All the flower cookies just looked so yummy and colorful. I asked Jordan if he wanted them for his class and he said SURE! But then I told him he had to help....his reply...nevermind! LOL.

Oh...the layout...LOL. Since we were getting busy with the cookies, Joey was all over the place trying to get the cookies, the Dots, anything he could get his hands on. So, I enlisted my Dad to help out.

I've been posting a bunch of Santa Cruz pictures from last year's summer album. This layout will go into the big 12x12 album as a 1page summary. Besides, I'm itching to do a 12x12 layout. It's hard to get all the crap you want to get on an 8 1/2 x 11 layout...lol.

The Scrapping Spot challenges

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to all of you :) I've got quite a bit to show you today. I've been scrapping a bunch with The Scrapping Spot Use Your Stash challenges. I LOVE LOVE the feeling of using up oldies but goodies. It would be great if you can come join us :)

These are new challenges for March. Here is one created for my challenge....use 5+ different ribbons. I tied a bunch along a border die cut I received in the mail. One of those freebies to try to lure you into their club or subscription.

This was actually from Feb's challenge. I combined 2 challenges: use green/yellow/orange on a layout and use frame/glitter/stars. Since I was late with this challenge, I also added a challenge from March...use 20+ brads. It's kinda a double page layout. They do sit side by side in the album and I used similar products on each..LOL. Yes, I'm still finishing up our Summer album from last year..LOL.

Finally, this layout is also for March's challenge: use 20+ brads. Man oh man, after these layouts, my fingers were kinda sore..LOL!

October THAW @ Willow Traders

Oh my word!! These layouts have been sitting in "draft" mode since October! I've been meaning to post, but just kept forgetting...gosh, story of my life lately! Back in October Willow Traders had a bunch of challenges. It was called, THAW: THree A Week. Meaning 3 challenges were posted during the week. I did get a few done, but then...life happens! Here are the few I did get done.

This challenge was to scrap colors of your favorite dessert. Can you guess what mine was?? Choco covered strawberries!! YUM! This picture was taken for a challenge back in March. It was sponsored by the kit club: A Kiss on the Chic. Hence the spelling of the title. OMG, I said, HENCE..LOL.

This challenge was to scrap something sweet?? Candy?? Halloween 2008, Joey was such a FAN of lollipops!! He gave everything up and only wanted those..LOL.

I can't really remember this challenge, maybe to use different fonts for a title? I can't believe how alike these two are!

Finally...just in time for St. Patrick's Day! This challenge was to use 12 of something. I used 12 PP and 12 brads. We saw this fella at Pier 39 and you KNOW Heintje just had to take a picture with him!!

Well, I've got more layouts for you. I've been a scrapping maniac!! I have a couple more in "draft" mode. I have about 5 more that I need to scan...and I'm expecting the APRIL Color Me Miki kit today....woohoo!! GET MY SCRAP ON!! I love it!

Color Me Miki--March kit--Going Retro

Hello MARCH!!! I say this every month, but dang, where did the past month go? Maybe because it as a short month, maybe because of all the 3day weekends we had, maybe just because we were so busy living life.... Whatever the case, it's already MARCH!! Two months have passed in 2010. And there seems to be no slowing down.

One thing is for sure, I've been busy with scrapping...my mojo has really been flowing this year. I'm having so much fun with it. I've missed it, I've missed cutting up papers, I've missed embellishing like a crazy person, I've missed fondling all the goodies. It's good to be back :)

I've also been scrapping with this month's kit from Color Me Miki...Going Retro! Terri seriously packs all her kits every month and March is no exception. Check out all the projects I created with the kit.....first up a canvas. I've missed creating these, too!

I did use a couple of the die cuts from Feb's kit, but everything else is from March. The picture was taken Dec. 24...right before Christmas.

And this picture was taken on Christmas....this my favorite picture of the kids to date. I want to make a canvas using this picture. I love it!

And now getting back to the Holy Land trip! I know, that was back in Nov. 2007. At least it's finally getting scrapped. And it's wonderful to relive all those amazing memories! Besides, I need to get them finished by June..haha! Our first visit of the day, Cana...the place where Jesus performs his first miracle.

I've been anxiously awaiting April's kit. but I've been keeping busy with actually using up my stash!! Although I've sold or gave away so much of my stuff, I still have so much more. It feels good to be using it. But I still have LOTS more!!

The Scrapping Spot challenges

Woohoo! I actually found time to play along with some challenges. It was super fun to just dig into my stash and just start throwing things on the layouts. Man, I have so much s'crap'! I've even been purging alot the past year and have not really bought anything. Either I need to purge somemore or I get my butt into gear and scrap more! I'll take the later :)

Anyway, here are the layouts for The Scrapping Spot's Stash Challenges.

First up, use Flourishes.....I also combined another challenge...use Punches....

This layout, another flourishes layout...sorta..LOL.

This layout, use the colors orange, yellow, green. I ran out of some letters, I made the "t" using an "l" and a swiggly line thing. Hey, it works. And check out my "a"!

Finally, my favorite layout!! This one is to use hearts. And I pretty much loaded up this page with lots and lots of stuff!! The big red outline type heart is actually 2 sorta flourishes from the Pink Paislee alpha. It was actually by accident, but I LOVE LOVE it! Another challenge was to use eyelets, but I can't find any! But in my quest to find some, I unearthed other antique treasures...safety pin, jump ring, and MM metal letters! These were totally the rage back in they day. And man, I still have plenty of that stuff left! Also....MM heart brads, Heidi Swapp clear and chipboard hearts. Even a total old school All My Memories metal heart. I love this layout...the embellies are timeless...just like our love. EWWWWW! That was super cheesy...LOL!

The Scrapping Spot--Feb kit

Isn't this kit so pretty!! I love the colors and the mix of greens/blues/brown makes this kit very versatile! I used this kit for everything other than Valentines!! I also wanted to say THANK YOU verryyy much, The Scrapping Spot, for having me on the team these past 6 months. Jill and Cathy, it sure has been a pleasure working with you and your fabulous kits!!

Now, onto the projects....a few cards.....LOVE the cupcake bling!!!

Another Thanks card...again for another staff member at school!! Dude, we had to make 4 cards and 4 gifts. I'll have to share with you the gifts the kids created. It was super cute!!

Awww...how I love my sweetie!! He just turned 3. Don't know if you can tell at the top, but there is hidden journaling that I plan to write stuff about.

Color Me Miki--Feb kit--Erin's Folly

Hello everyone! Happy Friday to you! I'm excited to share with you this fun and happy kit from Color Me Miki. I had a blast with this kit and it helped me scrap some of last summer's adventure at Santa Cruz. And boy, I do miss the sunny days of summer!

Here are a couple cards...

This one was given to another of Jasmin's teacher for Staff Appreciation Day.

Hello all!! I can't believe it's already February! And that means almost Valentine's Day!! Here is a kit from Color Me Miki created just for this special day. Cupid's Arrow is a fabulous page kit that you can use to pre-designed layouts or create some of your own! Check out the blog to see the pre-designed layouts. You also have the option to order the kit PRE-CUT!! Recording those memories doesn't get any easier!!

Here is what I created with the kit. 2 cards and 3 layouts :)

No Valentine's Day is complete without the annual "Made with Love" layout..LOL! That reminds me, I still need to take a picture for this year! Here is Jasmin making her Valentines last year for Kinder.

And this layout is kinda like a 2page spread. Last year for Valentine's Day we were going to head over to Santana Row. But as we were driving down 880, we spotted all the snow on Mt. Hamilton. We ended up making a detour to drive over there. Man oh MAN!! The road that goes Mt. Hamilton is very very winding. We ALL got sick, except for Heintje who was driving. We finally made it home and we gave the kids their gifts. YIKES! That reminds me again...I need to get the kids some gifts!!!

And I still have lots of stuff left over from the kit!! I was so spoiled with all 3 of January's kits. All of them loaded with plenty of scrappy goodness to keep you going all month!! I have February's kits all ready to post. She put together 2 kits for February. A fun bright kit that makes me long for sunny days. And a gorgeous muted kit, perfect for documenting memories of the past.

Color Me Miki---lots of JANUARY layouts!!

Helloooo and happy FRIDAY! Let me tell you, I have been busy, busy, busy with scrapping lately! I just can't get enough of it and with kits from Terri, I am so inspired! I'm hoping to get some scrapping done today, too!! I pretty much killed off the January Main and Add on kits with these cards and layouts. I have a few more scraps and alphas, but those will all just go into my big ol' Color Me Miki container.

Here are a couple cards I made for Jasmin's teacher and other staff members at the school. Their big thing to say in class is "You are special." So I put that on one of the cards..LOL. I inked up the alphas to make it stand out more and add a vintage look to match the rest of the card. Those fabric flowers in the middle of the circles are from ribbon trim from another CMM kit.

For this card, I added some bling. Can never have enough of that!!

This layout will be the last page of our Summer 09 book. Just some randome pictures of us walking around. For the letters, I inked them with brown Chalk Ink then added some stickles on top.

This was taken on my 35th birthday last year. My birthday was actually on my SIL's graduation. But that night Heintje and I went to watch a movie. I can't remember the name?? LOL..short term memory!!

Finally, this layout uses the stitched paper from Prima. OMG, that stuff is gorgeous!! I didn't even want to cut into it, it's so pretty!! I was planning on putting this on a canvas, but I don't know, still thinking about it. I cut up the pearl trim and put a single piece in each loop. I should have taken detail shots, sorry! But you can click on the image (any image in this post is clickable) and see it a little better. I also added more bling from my stash.

Color Me Miki--Jan add on kit-Sweet Love

Isn't this kit so pretty. And can you believe it's an add-on! It's from Color Me Miki and it goes great with their main kit, Love is in the Air. Here are a few pages I've done with it so far.

For this Jasmin page, I inked up the letters to make it a bit more vintagey. And you see those fabric butterflies along the bottom? I cut those out of her favorite pants. She wore those out until there were holes everywhere!

This layout is going into my parents album. This was taken on their 39th Wedding Anniversary. They had their prayer group come over as Mama Mary was going to be taken to her next home. We also had the priest and deacon from church come over and say prayers. What a special day for them!

I've got so much more to share with you from Color Me Miki. She started off the year with a BANG!! She offered a main kit, add on kit, and a page kit! Next up will be layouts and cards done with the page kit. Then a bunch of layouts using both the main and add on kit. Ack...all this kit talk is making me ansy...I can't wait to start scrapping!! LOVE it!

Plethora of pages!!

Last year Willow Traders hosted the Use a Kit Challenge. We could either use kits we bought from monthly clubs or make one up using your stash. Since I do not sub to other kit clubs, I usually just make my own. I received a prize from a fellow Willow who makes AMAZING homemade kits. In my Stash kit, I mixed some of the goodies she gave me with some other stuff. I just love throwing in more and more stuff. It's very eclectic, just the way I like it..LOL! I was always told I never matched my clothes. Why bother matching my scrapping stuff, too? LOL!

And here are the plethora of layouts I've created so far. I still have some more stuff from my eclectic kit. I plan on making some cards and such. I focused on scrapping pictures from last year's summer. Our niece and her family visited from LA for a few days. We managed to go to SF, Napa, and Santa Cruz. Not to mention swimming time at home, too!

Here is the cover page for the album. I'm also double dipping for The Scrapping Spot challenge #3, using circles. I used a bunch of buttons as a border along the bottom of the page.

This is just the way you would see it in the album. I'm anal like that..LOL. Heintje's sister also came up for the weekend when we went to SF.

And this layout was for The Scrapping Spot Stash Challenge #1, Evens. I used 2 pictures, 4 patterned papers, 6 ribbons, 8 buttons, 10 letters in my title. Fun page to do!!

I'm so excited to be scrapping again. I feel like I haven't scrapped in months, except for DT layouts!! Forget sleep man, it's time to get my scrap ON (like donkey kong)!! LOL.

The Scrapping Spot--Jan kit

Are you ready to check out a COOOOOL kit?? Gosh, how corny! LOL.

Here is the Jan kit from The Scrapping Spot! OMG, I am in love with all the glitter in this kit. The papers are glittered, the transparent frame and brads, even a bottle of Shimmerz!! This picture does not do justice to the kit, you need to feel it, touch it, caress it...bhwahahwaha!

I'm going to start off with a card. I made this for a friend. As I mentioned in an earlier post, her husband passed away the day after Christmas. He battled 4 short months of pancreatic cancer. I printed out the ticket from this site...THANKS!! I also printed out the .gif image showing all the tickets. I really only wanted the boarder, so I trimmed that out. Other than that, the alpha, the green brad in the center of the flower, and the bling, the rest is from the kit. The sparkly dots on the flower..that the tulle. OMG, LOVE it!

Check out our little cutie pie. I'm probably biased, but I think she is so pretty. Unfortunately, she knows it, too..haha! I had so much fun with this layout. I ruffled the tulle and stapled (since I don't sew) it on the left side. Then I cut out each of those pom-poms and glued them over the tulle. I also altered the ticket and erased the word (I think it was snow or something??) and used alpha stickers for "you!". Used strips inked with the ink pad included in the kit. And finally added the title and bling from my stash.

These were taken Dec. 2008. I know, totally working on older photos. I realized in 2009 I didn't take as many. I think I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the ones I have now. Or I'm just too lazy to bring along the camera now and let others take the pictures..LOL! These were taken at Christmas in the Park in San Jose. It's really cute, they have different booths with displays, a Christmas tree contest, rides, ice skating rink...and SNOW! LOL. I used the ink from the kit for the snowflake. Then added Stickles from my stash. I especially love the Fancy Pants transparency frame...soooo fun!!

Finally a 2-page spread...WHAT?!?!!? I know, I hardly do these kinds, but I had a bunch of photos from the event. More pictures from Christmas in the Park. We did go this year, but I took maybe 2 pictures, then my battery died! Oh well...we can always go back again in Dec!

Color Me Miki--Jan main kit

Happy Happy 2010!!!

I can't believe we have started a new decade. I was telling a friend the other day that the days seem to fly by faster than ever. It's getting harder to distinguish when things happen...was it last year?...5 years ago?...10 years ago??... It's so strange. Maybe it's just me and my forgetful mind..LOL. Every year I start off with a journal to record our daily happenings. Then I end up slacking off after a few months. Hopefully this year I can keep up!

Anyway, enough with the babble. I bet you guys want to see what Color Me Miki brings for 2010. Terri really started off with a bang for sure. This month she has 3 kits to choose from!

Here is the main kit, Love is in the Air. It's loaded with Webster's Pages, Prima, and MORE!!

Next up we have the add on kit, Sweet Love. It goes perefctly with the main kit with even more Webster's Pages and Prima.

Finally she offers a Valentine's page kit, Cupid's Arrow. If you check out the gallery, there are samples of what you can make with this page kit. You can make a single page layout, 2-double page layouts and even a card!! I love when things are planned out for you...page kit and layouts, all you need are pictures and memories. EASY! LOVE it!

I'm going to start with the main kit, Love is in the Air. Here is a Thank You card given to Jasmin's sub-teacher. Sister Judith was helping out in the class for 3 months while the teacher was out on Maternity break.

Here is just a simple card. Cut out some of the hot air balloons and used pop dots. Going to send this to my aunt in Virginia!

Here are more hot air balloons. They are on the back of one of the patterned papers. DO NOT worry! The car was not moving when these pictures were taken!! Joey just wanted to snuggle before we left..LOL. "KUYA" is a Filipino word to show respect to your older brother. Although right now Joey calls him, "Tuya" sometimes! LOL...

Finally, a layout with the kiddos and my dad. Another Filipino word here. "TATAY" is what the kids call my dad for Grandpa. I ran out of A's, so I used upside down V's and added a little dot in the middle...LOL! And also a bunch of scrap strips for a border. OMG, look at that flower...isn't is just totally gorgeous!!

Gosh, I can't wait to show you all the other layouts!! I am totally in love with all the kits. Next I'll you guys the addon. And also layouts with both kits combined. ACK!! I'm such a dork, I'm totally giddy right now and wish I were home scrapping away!! LOVE it!!

A couple of things...

I can't believe I actually scrapped something other than DT kits! These were made a couple weeks ago with some of the scraps from the Color Me Miki and The Scrapping Spot Dec. kits.

I gave these cards away as part of a set for teacher's gifts this year.

And finally, the last layout for 2009....and it's all about eating! YUM! LOL...

I can't believe the year is coming to an end. Just a few more days of 2009. It's been quite a year. We didn't go anywhere except a couple of trips to LA to visit Heintje's family and 1 week in Orange County to see Mickey! Next year will be a crazy year...our long awaited 1 month trip to the Philippines! I haven't been there since 1994 (I think??) and Heintje since 1989!! We are all so excited and counting down the days!!

Also, this past week has brought about 2 deaths in our family. If you can please keep in your thoughts and prayers Lolo Berto and Uncle John. Both passed away after months of battling cancer. They have both touched the lives of so many people around them. Their legacy will continue in our hearts. They will be missed so much.

Eternal rest grant unto them oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of Lolo Berto and Uncle John rest in peace. Amen...

The Scrapping Spot--Dec kit!!!

Hello everyone!! WOW..can you believe on a few short days until Christmas! I am almost done with all the shopping, only a few more gifts to get then finish wrapping them. I still have not sent out our Christmas tags! I have been slacking on that big time. I really just need to sit down and sign them, stick them in an envie, and call it done. But....I need to get started, YIKES! LOL...

Check out this kit from The Scrapping Spot...this kit features the beautiful Fancy Pants Christmas Magic collection. I've always been a fan of Fancy Pants and this kit has me drooling over them even more! It's also full of embellies like an acrylic Christmas tree, Kaiser Craft wood ornament, and SHIMMERZ! Man, this stuff was fun. I've never used it, but I painted the ornament and it's gorgeous. I LOVE it!!

For some gifts this year, I packaged a few handmade cards, wrapped it up in tissue paper and tied a pretty bow. Here are some of the cards I gave.... I used the quotes on the Fancy Pants patterned paers. It's cut in scallop because I cut the scallop border from it..LOL. It's the "Merry Merry" layout below...

For this card, I cut up the quote into strips--inking the edges and staggered them. I also added bling...can't forget that..LOL! Cut circles from scraps and added the tiny buttons.

More bling and a quote from the sticker sheet. I LOVE easy!

The gem tree is so cute! Added that extra umph for this card.

Here is the "Merry Merry" layout that used the scalloped border from the card earlier. We celebrate with our immediate family on Christmas Eve. We have a yummy feast and open gifts. This year Jasmin saved up all her gifts and piled them up high. While her brothers were ripping them op as they got them! I think she still had a few unwrapped gifts for a few days even after Christmas..LOL!

These pictures are from Christmas day. For event scrapping, I like to keep them pretty simple since I ALWAYS have tons of photos and unless I want 20 layouts for each year...I load my pages with pictures! My parents with the kids....

I had Jasmin write the journaling on here. She has AMAZING writing skills at 6 years old. She writes better than me! LOL! Check out the wooden ornament. The paint from the SHIMMERZ is awesome. I added some of the bling to jazz it up...

Finally, the kiddos....day in, day out, happiness, stress, joy, laughter, and tears...no matter whay...they will always be our precious gifts.

Wow, I can't believe it's almost Christmas and it's almost the end of another year. This year surely flew by...I think I say that every year! I was really busy with life and creating took a back seat. I hope next year life will slow down even just a little bit. I miss crafting, scrapping, and just overall fondling of papers, buttons, flowers, and bling..LOL....

Color Me Miki Dec. kit---Festival of Trees

It's the most wonderful time of the year!! I love all the festivities, the get-togethers with family and friends...and yummy food!..and the shopping! Oh my, I've been livng at Walgreens the past few weeks. And searching for online deals, so fun! But all of these events requre time! I wish there were more hours in the day, and double that time during the holidays!

One thing is for sure, if you are a fan of scrapbooking, using kits help with the time. They are already mixed and matched with fun manufacturers, papers, and embellies! Oh how I love embellies..they add so much to personality and depth to layouts. Here is the December kit--Festival of Trees from Color Me Miki. The kit is so festive and perfect for you holiday scrapping. I love the vintage feel to this kit with the rustic greens and sparkling gold.

I created a different shaped card for this sample. I esp like how it fits in a regular envie!! LOL. I added the bling from my stash of Prima Crystals...LOVE them! I also used scrap strips of PP and the packaging from the Prima flowers.

This card is 6x6, but I cut off the top a bit to go with the polka dots. Also the snowflake sticks out a little at the top for added dimnension. I used the Cat's Eye ink for the foam letters, BUT make sure to seal it with something like dimensional glue otherwise it will get on everything!

Next is a super simple card. I used the Prima packaging again and some scrap papers. This time I used Stickles on the Foam letters, love the subtle glitter!

This project is supposed to go on the wall, just haven't figured out where! The photo was taken last Dec. 24. That is when my family opens gifts and eats a FEAST..YUM! I took the Websters' PP and cut the inside out. I added foam pop dots to lift it like a frame. I cut the tree out of another Websters PP, inked it up and added some cut out butterflies. I also used pop dots for the tree and tucked some edges under the frame. Finally I added the little gold trees along the bottom and I inked up the reindeer and added him in the corner. It's also hard to tell, but I added some red Stickles to his nose..LOL.

Color Me Miki Nov kit--On the Road Again

Gosh, I wish we were on the road again...how I miss traveling! We haven't had a big trip since The Holy Land...2 years ago! We've been saving for a big, gigantic, super exciting, and long awaiting trip to the Philippines next June!! I can't wait, we'll be gone for 1month...woohoo!!!

This kit is from Color Me Miki, it was from November...yikes! I have Dec all ready to go, and I'll post that soon. Nov. has been a crazy month for me! Planning Jordan and Joey's birthday..I still need to get their pictures up!...and the Thanksgiving Feast for Jasmin's class. Then of course Thanksgiving and Black Friday..haha!! Gotta plan all those shopping sprees!

Now, on to the kit....On the Road Again!!

Even if you don't travel, you can use them for everyday pages! Here are my boys...

Here is Jordan when we went to SF. He had so much fun on the bungee thing. I was so proud of him for trying so hard and making all those flips!!

And one of Ms. Jasmin. This was taken when she was 4 and I'm just now getting around to it..LOL. The journaling is about now. Every night (we try to at least!) we say our prayers and say at least 5 things we are thankful for from that day. She is so cute and says "I'm thank you for..." I wanted to document it now before she says it the grammatical way..LOL! Sorry, my scaner is just getting so so sad lately :(

Another SF layout. I feel like we go there quite often lately! This time we were with my parents. This was Labor Day, the kids were off, and so was Heintje! We planned to go to SJ Japantown, but we headed north to SF to visit my brother and Tina instead. Also had some yummy cheesecake and shopped at Old Navy!! woohoo..I love Old Navy! Oh, in these pictures, were were taking a break and stopped at Blondies, the BEST! pizza ever!!

Finally.....can't do a travel kit without scrapping about the Holy Land! Have I mentioned how I miss it there...LOL.... This was taken at Caesarea. It was a port on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. It's so beautiful and you can still see many of the structures still standing. You can see the Med. Sea in the background!

Okay, that's all folks! I totally squeezed every last bit of this kit, I had such a great time with it!! And I just peeked onto the Color Me Miki site. It's a little different and to top it off...there is a SALE!! I haven't shopped for scrap stuff in a while, but I think I might pick up a couple bottles of Maya Road Mist!! Fun stuff!

The Scrapping Spot Nov Kit

Check out the November kit at The Scrapping Spot! Isnt' it simply beauti-FALL! I fell in love with it when it arrived. The papers are from Little Yellow Bicycle and have a smooth and sheen feel to it. Some even have a metallic look. And to top it off...BLING and STICKLES!! YIPPEE! One can never have enough stickles! Thank you so much Jill and Cathy for a gorgeous kit!

Let's start off with a couple of cards. I plan to send these out for Thanksgiving!

Next is our sweet Joey Boy! We don't have much of a Fall season here so I love that the papers can be used for any season!

Here is another one of our silly boy! This layout was really simple. I used 1 sheet of patterned paper and cut to size. Then I used the die cut transparency under the title sticker for a little dimension. This took me less than 10 minutes!

Finally, I wanted to use something with Fall. These are older photos when Jasmin was in preschool. We didn't get a chance to visit the pumpkin patch this year and last year it was closed. Hmm..wonder if it's still open to visitors?

Color Me Miki Nov kit---Harvest Spice

I love this picture of the next generation of cousins! I'm so happy that they get a chance to hang out so often. I hope they will be as close I as I am to the cousins of our generation! I used those cute animals for each kid. Notice how my 3 kids are birds..lol!

This layout shows the sweet relations between Jordan and Joey. I love that they are so close and Jordan takes care of Joey with tenderness. Now if I can figure out a way that he does the same for Jasmin!

Finally my hubs! Here he is trying to figure out the skateboard thing! LOL..

The Scrapping Spot--Oct kit!!!

Hey There Delilah! Check out this beautiful kit. This is The Scrapping Spot's October kit! The kit is filled with Bo Bunny Delilah. I already love the mix of pink and brown, but throw in orange! That helps scream FALL! But don't worry, you don't have to have girls to use this kit.

First, here are some cards. I only added the Prima swirls. Everything else was there. Remember, the papers are double sided!

I originally wanted to make an 8x8 page for these photos. But I couldn't fit all the embellies I wanted. You know me, EMbellie freak! So I used a scrap piece of Kraft CS. Although it wasn't wide enough. So the orange 8x8 sticks out a little, but that's OK with me! Check out the glitter action on the trees!

With Jasmin in the photo, I was able to use the pinks in the kit, ever so slightly :)

And here is ALL pink! LOL. Silly Jasmin posing at the top of the stairs at Bloomingdales in SF. She is such a poser!!

Finally, this was taken on my Dad's 65th birthday this past Sept. We had some crab from Boiling Crab, but also made our own steamed crab. YUM! We even had the Boiling Crab atmosphere and ate directly on the table and wore bibs! LOL.

Color Me Miki--October kits!!

Hello, Welcome FALL everyone!! It's time for cooler weather, pumpkin patches, and Halloween! I'd like to introduce you to Color Me Miki's October kit, Bewitching kit!! I was so excited to receive this kit. I finally started the Halloween album I've been wanting to make since Joey was born! I still have to get the album, I plan on getting a simple SEI landscape album. It's on sale right now at Joann.com for under $6. But I still want to check out good ol' Michael's first.

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to take detail shots. It's been busy with birthday celebrations every week. We've even been celebrating twice for each celebrant! LOL! Let's start off with a card.

Then we'll pretend we're looking at the album. I don't have a title page yet, but here will be the first layout. Joey's First Halloween! Okay, I'm totally ghetto, er, I mean resourceful! I didn't have another "R", so I used a "P" and cut off part of the "X" for the leg! Hey, it worked for me! Joey was only 3 days old when we went to the Halloween parade at school. I was wobbling around and man, I totally paid for that later! My parents, Heintje and I was up until super late putting together Jordan's costume. It was a great idea, but didn't turn out exactly how we hoped. By the end of the day he was left with 80% of his spots. Of course many of his classmates were picking them off! LOL. So later that night, he used his Batman costume from last year. Good thing it still fit.

Here is 2007. We have Zorro, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, and a cute lil' Bumble Bee. I love that the Bumble Bee costume is the same one from when Jordan was a baby!!

Here comes 2008. This year we went to Great America since we had season passes. It changed a little and there was no parade...either that or we were super late! I didn't realize they closed at 4pm and we got there around 1pm! Sorry kids. It was still enough time for them...and us!

Finally, is a layout from the school parade. Sorry, I scribbled out the name. Can you believe we got that costume for Joey...FREE! We went to Old Navy right before we went to Great America (hence the reason we were so late). We got free t-shirts for the kids and a $5 coupon. There was a sale for costumes, $5! We didn't even have to pay tax...totally exciting! And he loved it! I still have to make another layout with the before/after. Only Jordan kept the same costume, you can see what the other 2 were before Old Navy....LOL. Hey, check out the dots at the bottom right corner of the layout. I used the mesh in the kit and used my trusty old Cat's Eye Chalk ink pad! I actually did a technique! haha!

Well, that's all I've done with this kit. I feel bad I didn't touch the Amber Road part of the kit. I'm sure I'll use it later, but I was determined to start on the Halloween album.

In other scrapping news, I started Willow Traders' October THAW challenge! THAW--THree A Week. We create 3 layouts a week. Guess what, I actually scrapped! I think I got my mojo back and since they announce all 3 of the week's challenges on a Friday, I have the weekend to at least think about or even get scrapping on it. I'm so excited. I'll post along the way. Yay...get to dig into the scrap stash again!

Color Me Miki--more SEPT ideas!

WOW! I can't believe it's almost the end of September. This school thing and after school activities is kicking my butt! I really need to learn the art of time management!

Before the month ends I wanted to show you a few more layouts using the Color Me Miki September kit. I pretty much used this kit up to pieces, it was just soo much fun!! Thanks for putting together such great kits, Terri!

First up is Jasmin and Hazel back in July. Jasmin got a cupcake maker thing for her birthday and the kids have been anxious to use it. We finally busted it open and had some fun.

Next, this photo was taken in March when Heintje's family came up for a visit. It was pretty chilly!!

Finally, a layout when some girlfriends and I went to watch a movie then hung out at Denny's until 1am! GNO=Girls Night Out. For the longest time I couldn't figure it out...LOL. I was like, how in the world do you pronouce that?!?!

The Scrapping Spot--Sept kit!!!

Hello hello!! Wow, where in the world has Sept gone? It's almost the end of the month and I'm now just getting around to posting this!

I am completely honored to have been asked to design for The Scrapping Spot!!! I have been oogling their kits for some time and now I can play with them!! Look how fun this kit is, esp with all the stars! I'm constantly looking for boyish kits filled with stars. LOVE it!! What a perfect kit to start designing with. THANK YOU so much, Jill and Cathy for this wonderful opportunity!!

Let's star off with a couple of cards....perfect for boy birthdays!

Next is our little "Thinker". I have no idea how this all started, but he looks too adorable! I edited the photo in PS and added the journaling directly onto the photo. I love the gears..makes me think of his sweet brain spinning it's gears as he's thinking!

Next a couple of layouts for Jordan! I don't get very many photos of him anymore since he's not into the picture thing! But a few is better than nothing! I'm so glad that this kit came, great way to scrap Jordan for a change!! Here he is at the Viva la Vida concert. This was at Shoreline in Mountain View. It was the first time we had lawn seating, fun fun! But toward and middle of the concert, Jasmin fell asleep and Jordan was getting bored. At least he had his Bakugan to keep him occupied..haha!

Yay! Another one of Jordan! He is not much of a skater, but I've always wanted to use this title...haha. He does dabble in skateboarding, so he is improving. He still looks "cool" though! I love this kid, even though he's been a stinker lately! ugh!

Here are both kids at the Viva la Vida concert. I also included the tickets. They are paper clipped to the little pocket in the background. I had fun with the little pebbles in the kit. I used the chipboard stars, added a bunch of glue and adhered each pebble, one by one! Took some time, but it was worth it!

Finally, here is a canvas for Joey! Since I haven't worked with Canvas Concepts in years, I hardly create with canvases anymore. I really wanted to make something for Joey to hang in his room...whenever he will get one. For now, it hangs in our room--he calls it his room anyway, haha! I love love love how this turned out. I was originally thinking of using the spaceship as a mobile and have stars hang from it, but then decided on this. And I'm so glad I did!! I love it and this photo of him was just PERFECT!! I also used one of my favorite quotes: Reach for the moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars.

Color Me Miki--Sept kit!!!

Hello everyone!! Happy September....090909!! It's a special day and I wanted to share with you all a special kit! Here is Color Me Miki's September kit....Color Whimsy! It's so pretty and happy and colorful. I love the companies featured..Prima, Fancy Pants, and Sassafrass! All 3 are in my top 3..haha!

Here are the projects I created with this kit. I still have LOTS more to do, but my scrap mojo has been down since the kiddos started school. No more waking up at 830am for me! It's now the crack of dawn (not really) at 630am! *yawn*

I love the black as an accent color to help the colors pop!! It's the back of one of the cards from the Sassafrass package. The "Birthday" is from old school Making Memories definition stickers! I also added the Prima bling from my stash. I feel incomplete without bling now-a-days!

Next is my silly girl!! She is so proud of being SIX and needing 2 hands to show it off! haha!

Here she is again later that night of her birthday at the Viva la Vida concert by Cold Play. She loves the song, but unfortunately, she fell asleep about 30 minutes into the concert...LOL! This was at the Shoreline Ampitheater where we had lawn seating. I added the bling, the MM tiny alphas, the orange Heidi Swapp journaling circle, and the heart. I handmade the paper by blending tiny scraps mixed with water. Flattening it out, then letting it dry.

Finally, here are the two littles when we went to a friends baby baptism in LA. Jordan is just too old to hang with us! LOL. They look so serene and peaceful! I love it, even if it only lasts for 5 mintues!!

That's all for now. I have plenty more in the kit! It's packed, man! I completely dropped out of the September LEO challenge at Willow Traders, I'm 0/4. But I'm hoping I can still play along. I miss fondling my scrap goodies!!

Color Me Miki--August kit!!

Happy August everyone!! Sorry this is a bit late, but I need to recoup after the month long July LEO challenges at Willow Traders! I got so much done scrapbooking wise, but I also made chaos in the room and need to tend to other things in the household. It's been busy and I can't believe Summer is almost over...boo hoo :(

Anyway, here are the projects I created from the Color Me Miki August kit....Jungle Boogie (I just LOVE the name!!) I made this card for my nephew for his 5th birthday. I love the playful colors of the kit!! It's so perfect for kidlets :)

Then of course I needed to do a layout with our very own Wild Thing! He is such a nut! I used Cat's Eye Chalk Ink over the alphas to mute it down. I also cut up the bling strips to fit the zig-zag border. I cut the jagged mount behind Joey's picture to mimic a lion's mane..LOL.

I also made this for Jordan's album. I'm loving the landscape 11 x 8 1/2 action!! But it's so hard to pack it with pictures and embellishments..LOL! Jordan had so much fun climbing all the trees at Baker Beach. I thought the tree chipboard was perfect for him. I inked it brown, then painted over it with Ranger Crackle paint. I love that stuff, but I'm running out...LOL. Also had to throw in some stickles...forever!

Finally the boys...this was such a cute picture!! This was taken last March. Joey couldn't reach the pedals too well so Jordan helped him out. It's just the cutest picture!! I added the Prima bling swirls...my most favorite! ...It's like they are going so fast and creating a dust storm..LOL! Oh my, how corny!

Willow Traders' Blog Hop!!

Hello everyone!! It's time for another Willow Traders' Blog Hop!! I also wanted to share the past few layouts created for the LEO challenge!

First I want to start off with a new layout created for Twisted Sketches. I had such a great time with Sketch #8 esp with all the fun flowers. I turned the sketch on its side to accomodate a verticle picture. This was taken for Mother's Day. This is me and my awesome Mom. My brother sent us the fruit basket...with YUM YUM Choco covered strawberries!!

Next are a past few LEO challenges.

This was Challenge #13, use old supplies. Boy..I had TONS!! Check out old school SEI papers, the Heidi Swapp photo corner, some Junkitz chipboard...and on...and on....LOL.

This was Challenge #12...do something different. I created a 2-page spread. I hardly ever, ever do a 2pager, so this was totally a stretch for me...literally! LOL. These photos were taken in Jan when our cousin, Mikey, opened up a tatoo shop. We all had fun getting fake tatoos. Jordan went to town with about 6!

Finally, this was Challenge #11, use household items for inspiration. Can you guess where my inspiration came from...LOL! I also double dipped challenges for Paper Posies. Their challenge was to scrap summer. I also had to use their supplies. Since I do not sub to their kit club, I used papers I won from their 4th Annivesary celebration in May!!

This is all for now. I need to get busy with Challenge #14, scraplift someone....gotta find a victim..LOL! But right now, Heintje and I are off to Costco to FINALLY buy his LCD tv. After YEARS of talking about, his dream will come true! LOL! Thanks everyone!

Keep in Touch kits, pt. 2

Here is part 2 for the Keep In Touch kit club. Check out her blog post for images of the kit she sent...it was FUN!! This post will feature 2 layouts with a bunch of close ups!! I went to town with the details, 3D action with pop dots, and stickles forever!!

This first layout features my parents, Heintje's mom, and Ate Heart :) This picture was taken in Gilroy last year, yes, I'm still scrapping last year pictures! Heck, I still have Holy Land and New York pictures from 2007! LOL.

Finally here is our sweet Joey Boy! Man, I love that kid! These pictures feature his "Cheese" Smile! He was helping me with laundry and putting his clothes away. His version is putting them all in 1 drawer...LOL. I should take a picture next time.

Thanks so much, Kelly, for an awesome kit! I had a blast and used practically all of it up...yippee!! Got 3 layouts done and 3 cards--great way to use up those scraps. When in doubt, cut up a bunch of circles from PP, crumple them up, ink them up, layer them up, and stick a brad in the center. You got yourself a cute flower!

This month Willow Traders was having a LEO challenge, Layout Every Other-day, where we have a challenge and need to complete a layout every other day..LOL. It's been going on all month and I've been LOVING it! I've gotten so much done and using up tons of stash. This is the 10th challenge. Color Me Miki--July kit...Cherry Pie

Hello everyone!! I can't believe there is only 1 week left in July! I say this everytime, but man oh man! TIME FLIES!! The kids start school in 1 month and we still have lots to do in the house. We haven't even gone anywhere this summer...hmm...need to find a time share! LOL.

While we are still in July, I wanted to share with you the Color Me Miki July kit--Oh My, Cherry Pie! It's a wonderful mix of Webster's Pages and Jenni Bowlin. And gotta love the 2 alpha sets and STICKLES!! This kit is loaded with fun stuff and perfect for summer!

When I saw the colors, I was inspired to use this photo I had of the kids from last year. Totally being crazy and silly! It's funny to see even Joey joining in on the fun at 1year old! LOL. Heintje has been telling me that there are no canvases with Joey, so I decided to finally make one! This is a 14"x14" canvas, so it's a little bigger than a 12x12 layout. I had to cut up pieces of the patterned paper and piece them together. I also hid the seams with some cut outs. FUN stuff!! So now I finally have 2 pictures of Joey on our walls..LOL. Hopefully I'll get more done soon!

Although I said this kit is perfect for summer, spring works, too! I am starting to have a fondness for yellow and when I saw this paper in the kit, I knew I had to use it as a background! When I took this photo back in March, I don't remember if I meant to just take half their bodies, or I messed up?? But when I saw it later, I LOVED it!! The shorts, the bubbles, the sunshine...this photo just screamed ..IT'S ALMOST SPRING!! (this was back in March). I love sunny days and I'm so thankful I live in CA where we got lots of it!

Finally here is a card sketch with an example.

Other than a birthday party tonight, we have ZERO plans for the weekend!! We do have a have a house full of viruses so we are cleaning up. Then just we finally get to relax and stay home! Jasmin is getting over an ear infection and bronchiolitis. Heintje is getting over the flu, but still has a lingering cough. Hopefully after this weekend of rest, we'll all be 100% again!

Paper Posies Weekend Crop

Time to share some older layouts..LOL! I've had these sitting in my post drafts for some time. I keep forgetting to post them! These are layouts I created during the Paper Posies 4th Anniversary crop....wayyy back in May!

This challenge was to use stamps! The stars were stamped multiple times. I'm not a big fan of this layout, but it's done!

This challenge was to use a song title or lyrics. This is part of the lyrics from Bowling for Soup's Friend of Mine. "I'm so glad that I have these friends of mine." I love these guys!! I've known Jen, Alan, and Brandon since HIGH SCHOOL!! Then Alan, Brandon, Mike Lau, and I all went to San Jose State together. We were all part of the Engineering program and we all cut class, went to lunch, and had a blast the first couple years of college. Then we had to get serious our 3rd year if we wanted to graudate sooner than later! Through the years we have still managed to hang out. I'm so thankful for them!!

This challenge was to use a card sketch and make your own posie!! I love making these whimical flowers. Just take a bunch of different size circles, layer, and done!! For this flower, I crumpled up the circles, inked the edges, and after layering the pieces, added stickles!

Finally, this challenge was to use a decorative border punch. I only have the Fiskars threading water punch, so I used it on this card. I also used a bunch of scraps!! woohoo!

Paper Posies July Kit

Hello everyone!! Hope your summer is going well, birthday season has started for us and it's been crazy!! Our weekends in July has been packed, 4th of July party, Kuya and Tina's beach party, next week is Jasmin's party, the week after is Isaac's party! I LOVE it!! I love the celebrations, the get togethers, hanging with family and friends. And I love all the photo ops! heehee!

I've also been scrapping quite a bit this summer. I was honored to be asked to guest design for Paper Posies. My friend Sonda is on the team. I've known her for years via the internet. Although she lives in Sacramento, we still have yet to meet in person. Right now her family is in need of your prayers and every thought is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

Here are the layouts I created with the kit. The kit is packed and filled with fun goodies! I did add the buttons and the bling, but everything else was included.

First up is our Easter 09 photo. It seems every year Heintje is working. This year he was actually OFF and we decided to celebrate with a big family get together! The Mags were here and even Dad's cousin from Suisun!! We even had an egg hunt for the kiddies--Joey, Jordan, and Martin. Jasmin was too shy, so she had her own in the bedroom..LOL.

Next we have our RED HOT baby! This was taken last year, Nov 08. I just got my new camera and was testing it out. He is still a cutie, even with that face! Man, he is going to get me for this later...good blackmail when he is older! Gosh, I'm so mean..LOL.

Back in the day Heintje and I used to have breakfast or lunch dates with Jordan. Then he started school, then Jasmin came along...and well, life happens. Now that Jasmin has started school, Heintje has been having breakfast dates with Joey quite often. One morning we all left a bit early so I can join in on the fun. It's so different going out with just 1 kid. It was so easy!

And finally, here is a layout for Jasmin. This was taken last July when she was still very apprehensive with her training wheels. She still uses them, but now she zooms on by with it!! I'm so proud of her. With Jasmin it's all about baby steps. We don't like to push her, just encourage her. For her, she likes to take her time and sooner than later, she'll achieve her goals!

I had such a great time creating this layout. The vintage Sassafrass paper was perfect for it! I used a technique called fussy cut. I cut out certain images on the patterned paper and used it for my designs. I further embellished them by crumpling them up, inking the edges, and adding stickles....and pop dots!! I've included a bunch of detail images.

Happy 6th Birthday Jasmin!!!!

Yesterday my sweet (sometimes!) girl turned 6!!! I can't believe how fast time has gone. I know I say that every year, practically everyday about something or another, but goodness...look at this girl!!

Can't you just see the mischief in her eyes. She sure is a sassy one! I'm not looking forward to the future for sure. I wish time slowed down just a bit. I want to cherish these days when they are still pretty young..and sweet (sometimes!)

Tonight we will celebrate her day with dinner at Dickey's. She loves that place and the BBQ they serve. We were busy yesterday with an appointment for Joey and we also watched a concert last night...Coldplay @ Shoreline in Mountain View. She did manage to stay up for a few of the songs, but missed her favorite, Viva la Vida. Here she is fast asleep..in the middle of a rock concert! LOL! Only Jasmin.....

Happy Birthday sweetie!! We love you and hope all your special wishes come true!!

Random LAYOUTS share

In the midst of our computer woes recently...like the past few months!..I've had a chance to backup our hard drive and look though layouts. I found a few that I haven't posted yet.

I created this layout out of KI paper scraps! With the smaller format I went with this year, it makes putting together layouts quick! But I'm still so used to printing out large pictures, it will take some getting used to working with the smaller prints. All 3 photos are 2x3. I still need to get my embellishments ON! LOL. When I printed these pictures, I was running out of ink. I didn't want to reprint, so I used the "ooopsss" and made it a play on the words with the title...Life in Technicolor, song by Cold Play. (We are watching them in concert on Monday!!!! WOOHOOO!!)

This layout is another I made just for myself, no challenge, no design work. I used scraps from the Keep In Touch kits, plus a few other embellies. My brother and SIL. Title is, "In the Event"...I still need to add some hidden journaling. It's kind of morbid, but the layout shows their love for my kiddos and "in the event"....we would have them raise and care for them.

Lastly, this layout was created for a challenge at Willow Traders during their 4yr Anniversary month last March. These pictures were taken last Nov, but the journaling was done in March. He was basically practicing for April Fool's day after watching some stuff on TV. Mixed up shampoos and toothbrushes swapped from our bathrooms. Found stuff in the refrigerator, and all sorts of other pranks! It was quite amusing...LOL!

Hope you all have a great weekend! We are celebrating my brother and SIL birthday tomorrow at the beach in SF. I hope the weather will be warm. Last year we went and it was super freezing!! Hoping for fun pictures this year :)

Color Me Miki--July kit...He Said/She Said

Happy July everyone! Hope you are having a great summer. We have been busy with family from LA. Spent the past few days in SF, Napa, and Santa Cruz. Throw in BBQ dinners and daily swimming! It's been great! The kids are also having fun in summer school, esp in one of their classes...Cooking! LOL!

Now onto the July Kit from Color Me Miki. This month she had 2 kits again. This post will feature the He Said/She Said kit. I love the mix of goodies and the childhood vintage feel to this kit. The Cosmo Cricket and Sassafrass papers went perfect together! Here is the picture of the kit. I love all the colors together, the reds and the aquas...so pretty!

And here are some projects using the kit. I added the bling flourishes..I'm addicted to that stuff!

My silly daughter is totally an artist. She can even make an apple look amazing! LOL!

Joey Boy enjoying the tire swing at my parents house...he can get some air with that thing!

And the last layout with a sketch...man, I love this kid! Remember that song Cool Rider from Grease 2? LOL...he is my cool rider! The pearls that come in the kit are pink, but I inked them with my favorite Color Box Dark Brown Chalk Ink and it worked wonderfully!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!! Hope all the daddys and daddy figures get all the lovin' they deserve!! We had a long day and the kids are pooped! Not to mention mom and dad! We started the day at Coyote Hills in Fremont. Luckily we saw my brother walking Rako and had him join us. I say "luckily" because he helped out with the kids, esp Jasmin! Rako sure gave Jordan a work out! He was so excited and was totally pulling Jordan down the trails. The kids did really good considering we went up some steep hills, even Joey!

After the hike we all had lunch at a Filipino resturant, Kalesa. The food was yummy and we were stuffed! We all planned to take naps when we got home, but instead we worked on the garage a bit more. Almost DONE! All that is left is a corner and we need to figure out what to do with the bikes.

I also wanted to finally share my projects for Color Me Miki's May kit. I used this kit for Father's Day projects and didn't want Heintje to see them..LOL. The above project is a mini album using the 7Gypsies Vintage Transparencies and the packaging. I created the layouts directly on the transparency and I alternated the pages with cardstock. It was so fun and easy to put together, now I just need to print out some pictures and adhere them. Heintje is so funny. This has been laying around in our office for weeks. He's even moved it when it was in his way. Then I gave it to him yesterday and he was totally surprised! What a dork..LOL!

Next is a card I made for my dad. I totally forgot to give it to him. I'm going to buy a bunch of Lotto tickets and Scratchers.

Finally a layout created for Joey Boy! Although he's not as hardcore as Jordan was about Thomas, he does enjoy playing with them every once in a while. All other times he just likes to torment the other two...haha!! Man, I LOVE LOVE this kid!

Random CARDS share

Hello everyone...GREETINGS! I was doing a backup on our computer since my brother will be wiping it out soon. (it's still giving us problems, ugh!) I found a bunch of cards I haven't uploaded to the good ol' blog! So here ya go...LOL.

These were made from challenges during the month long anniversary crop at Willow Traders. CupCards {to go} is a card kit club owned by Sonda! I have never met her in person, but she lives just north of me a couple hours away. ONE day!! We hope to meet..maybe at Picture Me Perfect!

Here is one of the challenges they hosted. Use stamps on a card. I loved busting out my stamps. I'm really lazy about using them, but when I do, I get all excited!! heehee! The mesh background in pink is a stamps, also the heart with wings.

Jasmin also joined in on the fun. She made this birthday card for her friend, Gabby. Jasmin had a blast stamping all over the place! LOL. I uploaded her card for the challenge just for fun. The actual winner of the challenge is soo sweet, she offered her prize to Jasmin. She was super excited to get her own scrappy package! :)

The next challenge was to use die cuts. It stumped me at first because I didn't know which ones to use. Then I saw another lady using old school Making Memories die cuts.....so I followed suit..LOL! It was fun to bust them out and use up some stash!

The next challenge was to use a sketch. The sketch was super cute, but I think by now my mojo was running low..LOL! I am not pleased with this card, but hey, it's done! LOL.

A Million Memories hosted the next card challenge. I forgot what the challenge was...maybe a sketch??

Finally, here is a card I created the other day on my very own..{LOL}....out of scraps! Gotta use up the scraps, baby!

I'm trying to keep this up, really! It's been really crazy at the house with all our internet woes. Then also throw in end of school, cleaning up the house, and just plain living life. The house is a mess right now since we are trying to organize the garage. We got 2 storage things Hman is putting together. Just need to get some brackets then I get to organize...FUN! The scraproom/all purpose room is a mess with school papers everywhere. We need to weed out things and just save some of their favs. Hopefully tonight I get to scrap. I have the upcoming Color Me Miki July kits...yes...plural as in 2 kits!! I love them both!

The month of May was Paper Posies anniversary celebration. They posted challenges every few days, but I only had a chance to complete 4 of them. They also had a weekend crop that I'll post about in another entry. This is what I created for the challenges. This challenge was to create a card using a sketch. It was around the time for Mother's Day, so I created a Mother's Day card...this was for my Sister In Law.

This challenge was to mimic the Paper Posies logo. I love the posies and how simple it is to create. Just get some circles and layere them. Then add a center, I used hearts. This photo was taken in Lake Tahoe last year, I'm sure I scrapped this before, but this is for my Mom's album. I can't believe I used cardstock as the background!! LOL..I NEVER use CS anymore! Heidi Grace PP and I think a scrap of KI Memories and Daisy D. Chipboard circles by Heidi Grace, gotta have bling baby--Prima! Heart stickers from Michael's...I grabbed them from a sticker sheet the kids were using..LOL!

This layout was based on a Page Maps sketch. My poor Joey Boy. He fell off the back of the couch--HEAD FIRST! I was so scared that he bent his neck wrong..they way he fell looked awful!! OMG, it must have been the scariest accident any of the kids ever had. Luckily he got away with *just* a black eye...LOL. Totally used up some old school Doodlebug PP and stickers, Heidi Swapp journaling spots!, Technique Tuesday circle frame I painted with Crackle Paint, and Junkitz glitter chipboard.

And finally...another Joey layout! LOL. This was a scraplift from one of the designers. I loved how she layered a bunch of PP strips..I'm all about using up scraps! I don't even know if they match, but it's DONE :) Patterned papers: Prima, Love, Elsie, Junkitz. And a bunch of misc stars and buttons.

Keep In Touch kits, pt. 1

Last year there was a guest DT call for Keep In Touch kit club. I tried out figuring I have nothing to lose and since it was a guest DT call, there were no other requirements--message board, galleries, etc. I was so excited when I found out I was 1 of the lucky designers!..but had to wait a few months..LOL! Check out her blog post for images of the kit she sent...it was FUN!!

I have to write about this in 2 posts since I have a gazillion detail shots!! I had alot of fun with this kit and esp loved the various embellies...and you all know how much I LOVE EMbellies! First up is our Sassy Jassy Belle. I love the look in this photo, not so tamed hair, light shining on her. This was in Nov!! Man, I love CA :) I created this layout directly on the die cut PP.

Next I'll show you a bunch of cards. Mostly from scraps and went to town on cutting out images from the patterned papers. I added bling from my stash.

Color Me Miki--June kit--Surf City!

OMG, I totally LOVED this kit. I love the bright colors and the fun goodies Terri included in the kit. This is one of 2 kits she is offering for June at Color Me Miki.

Here is the first layout I created with the kit. I cut out the center of the bracket PP and mounted the "frame" onto the yellow cardstock. I also cut out the waves from the Fancy Pants patterned paper. I used Stickles on lots of things to mimic the glistening effects of the water! These were taken a couple weekends ago. It was our first swim of the season! That weekend was over 90degrees, perfect for taking a dip!

And some close ups. You can see the Stickles better in these photos.

Next is a simple card made with one of the journaling sheets in the kit. Totally simple, just fold it, add a piece of ribbon and embellish. I went with the Stickles again..LOL!

Next up are a couple of crazy kids! I know this is what to expect as the boys get older...more daring, more dangerous. But man, didn't think it would happen so soon....time is just zooming! And I'm sure this is pretty tamed, I don't want to know what they'll be into in a few years! This is Jordan and his best friend Christopher. They have been buddies since Kindergarten. They are more like brothers now, and his family is just like our family!!

And for a change of pace, here is our girlie girl! Used a few pieces from the April kit..the die cut shape and all those flowers along the bottom.

Finally our sweet baby! Man, I love this kid! He is just the sweetest (to me anyway..LOL). I love his zest for life. He enjoys everything, man!! Another simple layout. Strip of PP here, a journaling sheet there. Cut out circles, crumple and adhere with the brad. Outline the circles in Stickles and DONE! Used a couple of add-ons like the My Little Shoebox green mini alphas and the Scrap FX bird. I painted it, then applies Crackle paint on top.

And here is the sketch to go along with the "Pop, Pop, Pop" layout! Hope you can use this. It's a different size compared to my usual 12x12, but you can totally alter it to fit your needs :)

Color Me Miki--Webster's Pages Mini Book

Where in the world have I been...sorry, it seems like this is a constant in my life..LOL. I should not complain...a busy life is usually a blessed life, and God has certainly blessed us plenty!! Let me give a little recap of our week in the Magpoc household...

Thurs 5/21: Playdate and Room Parent Meeting
Fri 5/22: Another playdate/swimming/football/basketball; Heintje and a family friend (thanks Uncle Vu!) installing solar panels for our swimming pool. With all these boys at the house, Joey wants to be with them. That means I have to be outside, too...I'm not a fan of outside!
Sat 5/23: Continue with solar panels. That night went to a going away party for Jaime...have a great time in the Windy City..we are so proud of you!! Did not get home until almost 3am!! Wow, party animals..LOL!
Sun 5/24: Errands in the AM with Heintje. Get ready for BBQ the next day. Internet/landline at home craps out..UGH!
Mon 5/25: Happy Memorial Day. BBQ all day, ATT try to fix phone, NOPE! Heintje dropped the laptop (just bought in Nov) and the screen is shattered! No internet, no laptop! Thank GOD it was not Jordan...otherwise we would only have 2 children right now...LOL...
Tue 5/26: Field trip for Jordan's class
Wed 5/27: Registration for the kids at school; another BBQ dinner at the house
Thur 5/28: This has been too much for me!! I called in sick with a migraine. Heintje ran a bunch of errands with Ken..got the elliptical!! Biggest Loser is ON :)
Today 5/29: Lunch and cleanup for Jordan's class.....I'm SOOO ready for the weekend!

Did you enjoy my little whine fest...sorry about that! Should have warned you :) Anyway...on to some fun stuff. It's almost June and I still haven't posted all of May's Color Me Miki goodies...here goes!

Here is part 2 of the Webster's Pages kit from Color Me Miki. I created this mini book for Mother's Day. It is supposed to be an album about me and the kids. But then I started cleaning out my room and figured I have enough mini-albums so I decided to give it up for a RAK at Color Me Miki. Sorry, the RAK is closed and a winner was chosen. I hope she liked it!

Here is the cover. After I took pictures, I added more stickes, ribbons, and other goodies. It's so fun to just keep coming back and adding things here/there...everywhere!

Here is a close up of the cover. I love using Stickles on flower petals!

This is the inside cover page. I didn't take a picture of the facing page, but these are supposed to be for the dedication. Something about the kids, being a mom, etc...

Here is an inside page. There are 3 2-page spreads for each kid, at least how I envisioned it. But they can be for anything.

Finally the back inside page. I just love these quotes from the PP. Totally went with the theme.

A couple months ago my cousin asked for help on making a card....my male cousin. I thought this was super sweet of him to go through the trouble. He came over confused, nervous, and brought us a big bucket of KFC...thanks, Jeremy! Unfortunately, we did not take pictures of that card, I totally thought it was a 1 time deal...since it was a plot to woo a girl..LOL!

But lo and behold, when I saw him a few weeks ago, he proudly told me he's been making MORE cards!! He even ventured into Michael's and started busting out words like die cutting machine, stickers, cardstock, patterned paper. He even advised me to get an electronic die cutter so I don't have to use those punches....because the electronic die cutter has a bunch of shapes on a single disk!! heehee...LOL! I was so very excited to hear all of this!. And it was coming from my 22 year old male cousin! I totally hope I don't offend anyone in any way with this post. I'm just so proud of him!!

He even took pictures :) Here are 2 cards he created himself. "This is how you make manly cards!" And check it out...he even included a pencil he got from Ikea! heehee!

And here is the other image he sent me. Not sure if this is the inside of the above card, but check out his attention to detail!! How totally cute is he!

WTG, Jeremy!! I totally dig your cards, you rock...you manly cardmaking dude! Hope you keep it up and create more cards!!

Color Me Miki--May kit--Webster's Pages

No excuses, just haven't had a chance to blog lately. This will be short and sweet :) Totally loved the Color Me Miki May kits...BOTH of them! Here is the Webster's Pages kit. LOVE the colors and all the pretty patterns in this kit. I used a bunch of it for a Mini Book I'll have a separate post about. Here is the kit:

I created a card for my Mom for Mother's Day. I can post it now since she already recevied it. Happy Mother's Day, Mommy...we LOVE you so much!

And some close ups....man, I had so much fun with this kit and cutting up the PP! Not to mention all the stickles I used!! Bling baby!

And here is a sketch I created for this kit. Really simple. I basically just took 2 pictures (4x6) and plopped (yes, this is a technical term!) them on the PP---Webster's Pages did all the work for me! I also used the alphas from April's kit to help with the title.

And some close ups...Not only do I love Stickles, I love Pop Dots! heehee!

Finally another card using a 7Gyspsies tag and the Webster's Pages sticker sheet. For the flower I basically cut up different sized circles and crumpled them up. Next I snipped the edges randomly and crumpled again. Finally I inked the edges and layered them. Finished it off with the Princess brad. I also used a some Prima bling to add to the vines. This is a great way to use scraps!

Done...told ya, short and sweet! I'll post the Mini Book next :)

11 years and NSD!

Hello everyone..happy May 2! What is so special about May 2? It's Heintje's and my 11 year anniversary!! Exactly 11 years ago today, 2 became 1..haha..cheesy! He is working today and we have a birthday party to go to tonight. Hopefully we can celebrate sometime this week with yummy dinner and a movie.

Today is also National Scrapbook Day. I told Heintje we need to get married again on a different day since I'm always missing out on NSD. Priorities, right! There were many places online that are hosting challenges and such. This year I used the challenges hosted by Scrap for a Cure. These girls rock. I love how they give back to the community and donate part of their proceeds to charity. WTG, Patti and Diana!!

This first layout is for Challenge #5, create a fun border. I esp. wanted to use these pictures today since it's our anniversary! This was taken at the Gala a couple months ago. Just like prom..haha!

The next layout is based on Challenge #1, use a sketch. It's a sketch created by Becky Fleck from Page Maps. I love how easy and versatile it is!! Journaling is about how Jordan stayed home from school when they were having a field trip because of his out of control coughing!! Poor dude. I felt so bad, so I left work early and we had a date a Subway. YUM!

Finally, this last layout is for Challenge #7..doodle. I didn't do much doodling here, just outlining the 4 photo corners and the center PP (which is actually packaging from K&Co). Back in March, we took Heintje's cousin from the PI to SF. Cool day!! This picture was taken atop Twin Peaks.

This is it for now, hopefully I can get more challenges done later today!! Woohoo..I love scrapping!!!

**eta....Here is another layout I completed. Challenge #8 was to use fabric..I created a yo-yo flower with fabric and backed it with medical gauze...LOL! Jasmin looking oh so cool in her bug eye glasses!

Okay, here is another one, Challenge #6...scrap not so perfect pictures. Blurry pictures, goofy pictures, and the one of my SIL was smeared post-printing. I need to reprint it, sorry, Ate Grace! New Year's day, we all went to watch Bolt. Even my MIL enjoyed it! :)

**eta #2....last one for the night. Challenge #3 was to use a whole sheet of rubons. Since I don't have very many rubons anymore...I'm rubon challenged..LOL, I used older sheets from the Creative Imaginations line. They are little square booklets with about 15 pages in them. A few friends gathered and split up our packs so we can have a variety. FUN stuff! Here is Jassy in one of her moods...her moods that get her in trouble! I've had that "tempermental" sticker forever and a year, I"m so glad to finally use it! Thanks, Jasmin..LOL. Anyway, all those flowers and the flourish along the left side are rubons.

This is it for NSD. I don't think I can get another done in 45 minutes, scanned and uploaded, so I"m calling it DONE! Stick a fork in it. THANKS so much Scrap for a Cure for the fun challenges! Now that I finally delurked on the boards, I'll hop on the blog challenges, too!! YIPPPEEE!!!

Color Me Miki--April kits!! Home kit

Wow!! I can't believe May is upon us, like TOMORROW!! I wanted to get these in while it was still April. I don't know where these past 4 months have been...like a rocket ship to Mars! What?!?! You know what I mean.

Anyway, just a quickie today....here are layouts created using the Color Me Miki April kits. Used goodies from My Little Shoebox and Prima..LOVE it! I had to do a layout with this picture! Yup, he's only 2. Does he know how to actually play? I have no idea, but he is sure enjoying it! I totally got the title from other layouts I've seen. It was perfect for my silly gamer!

More pictures from last year. These were from Dec, so not too long ago! She sure does have a style of her own! I love love the pretty trim from the kit. I added some Stickles to the petals for extra bling :)

And these 2 sillies! What a nut is my son for wearing the headband. Don't ask?? I don't have an answer for you...ha! The flower was simply made. Just a bunch of crumpled up circles topped with a single flower from the trim.

Color Me Miki--April kits!! Garden kit

I know..I know...where in the world have I been! Sorry, whenever I get back from vacation, I still need another one just to recover and get back to life! We've also been try to do a "clean sweep" on our house. We've been infested with bugs and it's gross!! Poor Jasmin was bitten by a bug and her right eye was so swollen, could barely open it. And being in a timeshare with basic needs and open living space inspired me to get rid of lots of stuff. It's not like we even use the things, it's just taking up space in our already tiny home. And the computer room...UGH! That place is endless!! *sigh*...I just need someone to box everything up and get rid of it. I just want to start from scratch at times!

Anyway, while it's still April, I wanted to share with you my creations with the Color Me Miki April kits. Today I'll show you the Garden kit. Goodies are mostly from My Little Shoebox, fun stuff!! This layout features crazy lil' Jasmin! She is all about the signing right now. I mean from the early hours she wakes up--6am! she will bust into the room signing at the top of her lungs. I don't want to discourage her creativity, but dude...I need my sleep, ha! I love how happy and carefree she looks. The quote is from Dr. Seuss...I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. But not at 6am, please....LOL.

Here are pictures from last year. These were taken at Gilroy Outlet, the kids passing time while we shopped..ha!

Finally, these were also taken last April. It was about 90 degrees....nice and warm compared to today (I'm freezing at 50degrees!). And a sketch to go with it....THANKS so much for taking a peek!

SFAC and Vintage Plum

The next layouts/card were made from challenges given by Scrap for a Cure and Vintage Plum. I was very excited to win a RAK from Scrap for a Cure...THANK YOU soo much! I met the owners at Picture Me Perfect during the NSD crop last year. They are awesome ladies and I really love how they give back a percentage of their sales to a worthy cause. This quarter they are giving to Donate Life, an organization who supports those in need of transplants.

This layout is from Scrap for a Cure, scraplift a designer. I can't remember who I lifted, but THANK YOU!! Don't ask me why Joey is wearing a headband! LOL!

This challenge was to use different mfg..I love doing this so it was fun and easy! I found this idea from this cool blog. I think she found it from another blog. It's a cute idea to change up your summer vacation lunch routine. Use little muffin tins and put different goodies in each compartment. I used rice (totally pinay!), chicken, and some crackers for fun. They totally got a kick out of it when they saw it.

The following layouts and card were made from Vintage Plum challenges. This first layout was to use a tree anywhere on the layout. The cool chipboard trees are from the new DCWV recycled line. LOVE the cute animals in the pack, too!

This next layout is based on a sketch. One of the owners commented why I only have sleeping pictures..LOL. I guess it's just easier to take their picture when sleeping..haha! Oh man, check out the totally old school stitched paper in the background. I think that was from 2004! I still have a few sheets, too. I went crazy with the bling, but LOVE it!

Finally, we had to make a card that had polka dots in them. Just a fun simple card ready to give for the next party. These shapes came from a sheet of tags that were included in a gift wrap kit I bought from school. I just trimmed them a bit and added pop dots on the party hat. Love quick embellies!

Hello everyone! Finally got a chance to post again. It's been a crazy past few days. We have an offer on our rental house..remember our meth house..LOL! We can't wait to get rid of it. We are taking a huge loss, but at least it will be out of our hands for good! Now to wait 6-8 weeks for an answer..ugh!

Here is the first challenge I made for the Willow Traders 4th Anniversary celebration. I did not start until March 19 so I missed most of the month, but I did manage to create quit a bunch!! It was so fun! This layout is based on a sketch challenge hosted by Transparent Touches and Tags. Taken last year around this time. The boys watching sport, Heintje does not seem too thrilled! haha!

Next I played along with {SAS}--Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. They posted their challenges really early--like midnight EST!--so I was able to get this done fast!! First was a sketch challenge. Here is Joey coming along with H and I on a breakfast date at Denny's!

Next challenge from {SAS} was a scraplift from their gallery challenge. I lifted THIS layout.

Finally, the last challenge was to use their logo as inspiration. I love the color and esp the swirls!!

My boys

Before I go on with all the layouts/cards I completed during the Willow Traders Anniversary Celebration, I wanted to post a few layouts I created in February. These were "just for fun" layouts that I made with scraps while I was purging my room. I've totally been on-- a use up all my scraps and embellie package kick lately. It's fun to mix and match things that does not seem to go together at all, but when you put it on a layout..it's a free for all! haha!

Here is my first born. It's so hard to get a good photo of him lately. He's usually in his room doing his homework--hey, that will be a good photo to take today--or making goofy faces, or just plain unwilling to take photos now. I was happy to get this one back in February. I love this kid. There are times he makes me pull out my hair, but he's a good kid! Check out the old school "boy" photo tab thing..from All My Memories back in the day! I'm also trying out a new size for the kids. Seems to make it easier to handle. Maybe they'll actually look through their albums! haha!

Now talk about using up some stash!! Alpha overload on this layout! The background paper with all the quote bubbles was from the Color Me Miki Jan kit. I thought it would be perfect to use for Joey now that he is saying lots of words. We were pretty nervous in the beginning but once he turned 2, he went from 2 words to 10 almost in 1 week!! Right now some words are still difficult to understand, but he is stringing 2-4 words now...woohoo! You get down with your bad self, Joey! Oh...BTW, if you are wondering what "Bao" is...LOL...that is what he calls himself! I have no idea why, maybe because sometimes I say Joey Boy?? It's totally funny though!

And lastly, another one of Bao! haha. Pictures taken the same day as the above photo. That boy is our tornado causing chaos in less than 5 minutes flat! This layout was done for a challenge at Willow Traders...using 3 goodies 3 times. 3 patterned papers, 3 ribbons, 3 brads, plus a mess of other goodies!

Hello everyone! Hope this is a trend and I start blogging regularly again. Well, except in a couple weeks, we are going to Disney! Yippee! Today is just a quick post about our Saturday night Gala event for the school. Heintje and I had a wonderful time with friends from the school. It was a Black and White event so we were excited to get all dressed up. I borrowed Cousin's dress and it fit perfectly. Didn't have to worry about it falling, being too tight, etc. Just comfortable and easy!

The Gala was super fun! Here are some highlights of the event:

We got there and took pictures right away. It was like prom! We even took group photos with other parents...LOL. I can't wait to get them!
There was a live auction for the class projects. I'm one of the 4th grade room parents and we worked so hard on the 2 projects for the class. I'm glad we were able to raise enough money to double our budget. YIPPEE!
Heintje and I won a raffle prize!! When we arrived I immediately noticed an electric toothbrush with a professional teeth whitening visit at the dentist. I've been commenting how even my 2 year old has an electric toothbrush and in my entire LIFE I've never even tried it (except at the dentist). I've also been wanting to get my teeth whitened from all the coffee staining. I was so excited to hear my name called! I didn't even realize it since I was chatting with a friend. I was like..what did I win? woohoo! haha!
We danced the night away. Literally! We made it to the very last song of the night. My feet and whole body hurt the next day. I got my work out in for the entire month! The DJ even took video footage and posted on Youtube. If you are lucky enough to find it, it's totally funny!
Finally, the best part about the night was having time with Heintje and hanging out with friends. We got to dress up, look pretty, have an evening without worrying about the kids, and had some yummy food and drinks!
Thank you Daddy, Dodo, and Titi for watching the 3 rugrats and for allowing us this wonderful evening!

Everyday a different kit club hosts challenges, games and gives aways prizes. This layout was made for A Walk Down Memory Lane. The challenge required 1 b/w photo, paint, 4 PP, and flowers. This was made very last minute. Jasmin even helped with the painting!

Hello AGAIN! Wow, no blogging for 1 month and here I am less than 24 hours later with another post! How cool am I? ...wait, don't answer that..LOL!

I know it's already the end of March, but I wanted to show you the Color Me Miki MARCH kit. Look how BEAUTIFUL it is! The colors are so rich and romantic. And all the Prima goodness! Oh la la!! At first I was unsure how to use this kit, but then I went to TOWN! Please enjoy the show!

Oh yeah, one more thing...if you have any time today, Saturday, March 28, stop on by Willow Traders. They are on the tail end of it's 4th Anniversary celebration. Here is a layout from last year's Valentine's. Heintje worked that day and we had a impromtu family picture on the couch. It's not the best picture, but I LOVE it!! The quote is by my friend Kent Nichols. It reads: Home is not where you live, but who lives in your heart. I love it and thought it was perfect for this layout!!

I use the packaging from the Prima (the kraft looking piece with the scrolls cut into them). I also cut up the felt gate to act as a bracket.

Finally our Date Night! This was also last year Valentine time. We went to watch Barry Manilow!! OMG, I was teasing Heintje about him forever. I really like Barry, too, but it's just fun to tease Heintje about it. But man...during the concert I was the one getting up and singing and dancing like a wile banchee! Barry totally rocks and I would LOVE to watch him again!!

Where in the world have I been? Man oh man, I'm so sorry for keeping you all hanging. It's been one of those months and yes, it's been 1 month to the day since I've blogged. YIKES! Happy Friday everyone!! I sure am glad it's Friday, that means....scrap the night away! For Lent I am trying to sleep before midnight. It's really throwing me off since I'm used to sleeping 1-2am. When I go to be around 11pm, I end up waking up around 3am! Well, hopefully I'll get used to it and will be refreshed and ready to roll every morning!

In the last post I featured pictures and layouts from the crop at Picture Me Perfect. It was a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. There were a bunch of raffle prizes and I won an amazing box filled with Fiskars goodies!! I even took a photo because I was so excited! LOL. I finally had a chance to play with some of it and created some layouts. I also created a card that I will send to Fiskars....THANK YOU!

The box was filled with lots of lovey goodness! It was a great way to scrap LAST YEAR's Valentines..LOL. Look how tiny Joey looks. And Jasmin...she still looks like a little girl..sweet, not sassy!! wahhhh!

There were also pretty elegant papers from Heidi Grace. I used them for the 1st layout in our 2009 album.

I also have a few more in the works. I'm telling you...this box was PACKED! But I will leave you with this card. Since I'll be sending it, I wanted to scan it..LOL. It's a 6x6 card using patterned paper for the base. I also dusted off the Threading Water punch. Ohhh, so pretty! I think I'll be using it again for a while..LOL. THANK YOU sooo much Fiskars, not only for the amazing prize, but also for your support in such a good cause!

BTW, so sorry for the crazy scans lately. I really think I'll be needing a new scanner. My large format scanner is now 5 years old! I purchased it from ebay in 2004 when I started being on scrapping design teams. I can't believe at one point I was actually designing for about 7 different online places, designing for Canvas Concepts, and teaching at Bay Area Scrappers all at the same time! That was when I didn't work, Jasmin wasn't even 1 year old, Jordan was just in preschool, and Joey was still floating in the air. Time sure has changed where years feel like hours and days feel like seconds. Have a great weekend everyone. I challenge you to just and do nothing for an hour!! I don't know if I can pull that off...LOL!

Crop layouts

As promised, here are the crop layouts. I completed them last night adding some more finishing touches, a.k.a. embellies! I think I overdo it, but oh well, I love to just throw bunches and bunches on there! FUN stuff!

First off, I wanted to show you some pictures of the girls. BTW, I saved these from their blogs, THANKS, girls! heehee! Here is my buddy, Erin. Suzy always confused our names and calls me Erin and calls her Em. I guess it's fitting since we are a bit similar. Her older DD reminds me alot of Jasmin. We've been comparing notes and they have lots of similar traits...too scary! Even their school uniform looks the same! Her younger DD is similar to Joey. We both prayed about their speech for some time and now, thank you, God, it's improving dramatically!

And here are the OG4! I love these girls! We were the original G4--working our butts off on canvases until the wee early hours of the morning. I am so blessed to be a part of this group of woman who came together to share the same passion, but ended up sharing our love and support through the years. Suzy, Krista, and Michelle...I love you guys!

Finally, here are the layouts, check out the different size! I'm trying to find a way to make better use of space for the gazillions of layouts I have..haha! We tried out this new sushi restaurant in Fremont, Little Madfish. They had a grand opening special, half-price sushi between 3-5PM. After school, we rushed over to try them out and it was YUM! I think it even tasted better since we saved a bunch of money, too! haha! Here is our crazy daughter. Seriously, this girl cracks me up! She will just make crazy noises, crazy comments, and bust out laughing for no reason. Gotta love her exciting personality!

This layout features the boys! Jordan loves Joey so much....he always tries to hug and squeeze him. Sometimes it's a bit overwhelming for Joey..haha! They have a love/rough relationship. Mostly love, but also often times pretty rough. Is that a boy thing? That Joey dude can totally sock Jordan with his left hook. Just be careful, lil' dude....when you get older, Kuya will not hold back anymore! The rumble will be on...yikes! This layout was also based on a challenge from Willow Traders, using only 1 word as a title...Brothers.

Finally the last layout I created during the crop. There really are no flowers covering up the name of the school, but you, it's the internet. Gotta leave some names out :) This was taken last year when Jasmin had to interview for kindergarten. I was so nervous for her...I ended up crying not her! She was so brave and knew her ABC, counted up to 20, spelled and wrote her name, and named all the members of her family! We are so proud of her. I can't believe how much she has grown...wahhh!! This was also another challenge from Willow Traders, fussy cutting, a technique where you cut out images from patterned paper. The floral PP was a left over sheet from the Color Me Miki Jan Gretel kit. I love this Prima paper, it's beautiful and sparkly with glittered accents!

There you have it. I can't believe I was actually productive during the crop and hope to be able to attend another one soon. I finished up 3 layout using the Color Me Miki MARCH kit. You guys are going to love it! It's gorgeous, elegant and romantic..haha! Perfect kit to use while scrapping those Valentine photos. Here is a little sneak for you...

Solvang/Santa Barbara, pt. DONE!

Haha! I bet you guys are so excited that this is the last post you'll see about our trip. I'm just so glad I got it DONE! A whole album for 1 event. 4 days comprised into 24 pages. Not too bad. Now...I really want to get started on the Holy Land trip again. I've been slacking on it. Almost done with that trip. I think 4 more days to go...woohoo!

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I last posted. It was a busy week indeed! The AHA crop was amazing...thanks so much, Suzy! I got to hang out with my scrappin' buds..it's been so long since I've been to a crop. I sat with Michelle, Laurie, Krista, her sweet mom, Sue and Danielle. Also saw Erin and Rocio and bunches more. It felt like the garage again seeing faces from long ago. It was beautiful how these women banded together to support Michelle. That is one thing I love about scrapping..in times like this, we all get together and show our love and support. No matter how close we are to them, no matter if we are best of friends, acquaintances, or someone you don't even know. It's amazing how much love can be shared! Although I was only there for 3 hours...and in between, there were speeches, games, and lots of laughter and tears, I was able to create 3 layouts. They are pretty much done, just need to get journaling on there and maybe throw in a few more embellies. You know me and embellies! LOL! Those will be in my next post...along with a couple pictures from the crop. I love those girls. I can't wait to crop with you guys again! Oh yeah...I totally forgot to mention, I won a SWEET prize! It was a huge package from Fiskars. FILLED with lots of love goodies! I'll have to take a picture and post it. THANK YOU sooo much, Fiskars for the generous prize!!

Have you guys noticed my banner? Probably since it's right at the top staring at you in the face. I FINALLY decided to sit down and just do it. Of course I ignored my family for a few hours and Heintje had to pick up the kids from school, but it was worth it..LOL. Now, just to figure out the rest of the blog!

This was taken at Mission Santa Ynez in Solvang. Man, isn't she so pretty. I look at her in awe everyday. In awe of her prettiness (is that a word), in awe of her craziness!, and in awe of how big she has grown--physically and emotionally. I love this girl so much!!

Here we are on the streets of Solvang. And a cute little place to eat..and yummy!

I always love taking pictures of the kiddos on the way home. You can tell they are so tired because they pass out within minutes of hitting the freeway! Jordan was not in the car with us, he rode with my brother.

Travel Mini Book

Happy day after Valentines! I hope you all had a great day filled with love with your family and friends. Today we planned to go to Great Mall, but we were first side-tracked by the beautiful snow on Mount Hamilton. We tried to go up there, but they closed the road. It was such a long windy road, Jassy, Jordan and I got car sick. Jordan fell asleep, so he didn't feel it so much. Jasmin was crying on the way down the mountain and me...I still feel a bit sick! After our {non}adventure at Mount Hamilton, we finally made it to Great Mall. Jordan has had a growth spurt and lots of his clothes do not fit him as well so we got him a bunch of clothes and 2 pairs of shoes. Lucky fella! Got home, took a nap with baby Joey, had dinner, then finished the night with Karaoke...haha! Actually, my night has only begun now that I have peace and quiet in the scrap room, although I"m still feeling nauseous..lol.

Tomorrow I'm going to the LSS for a big crop. Bay Area Scrappers is having a fundraising crop for the American Heart Association in memory of Michelle's husband, Marshall. I'm looking through pictures figuring out which ones to scrap and came across this mini album, I think it's an 8x8..so it's not exactly mini...LOL! I gave it to Ate Monette and her family so they can remember their time spent here with us. Here are a few of the pages...very simple!

I kept the journaling parts blank so they can write their own feelings and memories. They were here for 6 weeks!! What a great vacation! I can't wait to see them again..hopefully soon. Next year we are planning to have a big family reunion in the Philippines. All the folks from our Holy Land trip will be joining us. I hope it works out, I haven't been home since 1994 and I miss my family so much.

Tomorrow I'll be getting my scrap ON!...well, only for a few hours. Jordan has a basketball playoff game in the evening at Moreau! Man, I haven't been back there since I graduated...I bet that place looks different, too! There will only be 6 of them so they will be very tired! They are currently in second place and will be playing for a spot in the CYO tournament. Please keep the team in your thoughts and wish them good luck!

Solvang/Santa Barbara pt.3

Okay...promise, only 1 more post after this..LOL! And I won't even post all of the layouts..some are just too "thrown together." I'll just post the nicer ones for your viewing pleasure. I want to show you eye candy, not eye sores..LOL! At least I can say the trip is DONE! 24 -12x12 layouts all in 1 album. All in chrono order. All DONE! As a fellow scrappin' friend use to say...Stick a fork in it and call it DONE!

Here ya go....still focusing on Santa Barbara. We spent the whole day there so there were many photo ops :) Here is a layout of my dad. We went on this little getaway to celebrate my dad's bday. He is a 9/11 baby! Here he is on Stearn's Wharf.

After lunch at Shellfish Co. on Stearn's Wharf, we headed to Paseo Neuvo Mall. We didn't want to shop, so we headed toward the beach....duh, we JUST got back from there! It was a nice walk, but a little far. The kids did great and when we arrived at the beach, they completely forgot the walk..LOL!

Kids + water= fun, fun, fun! I don't know what draws the kids to the ocean. I bet they can be there for hours just jumping the waves, playing with the sand, skipping rocks. If it was a warm/hot day, they would be running in there!

After the beach, we headed back to Paseo Neuvo Mall. This time we took the city trolley. We got there a little earlier than the rest so it was photo shoot time..LOL! Dude, I'm telling ya, I'm going to have my hands full with that person in the blue tank top! Can't you just see the attitude!

Lastly, we went to the Courthouse. Sorry, I'm too lazy right now to post links...LOL. But in my previous posts, I do have links to these places in case you are interested :) And after the long walk to the Courthouse (we didn't realize it was so far!), we took the trolley back to the mall. Only to find our car would not start and we were stranded for a couple hours!

Solvang/Santa Barbara pt.2

Here we go....more Santa Barbara pictures!! I am ALMOST done! I have about 2 more layouts to go...some journaling....and scanning! These are layouts from Santa Barbara. First stop was Stearn's Wharf. These layouts are not spectacular, but I wanted to get them done. Papers totally don't match, lots of pictures, lots of stuff...LOL. But I didn't want a super fat album...we are running out of space in our house!!

Totally OLD SCHOOL paper...Me and My Big Ideas baby paper pack like from 2003 or something! It was a dull, overcast day in Santa Barbara. The gray paper seemed to fit the mood...LOL. But then I wanted to brighten it up a bit with other goodies. Oh..and trying to be "green," the yellow piece on the left is actually packaing from a K&Co sticker sheet :) What else is on here...the stars are cut from Prima Dude PP; Love, Elsie sticker; transparency..maybe Prima?; Die Cuts with a View die cuts; Thickers; blue scallped border is Jenni Bowlin crepe paper!

My parents, Auntie Elon, Uncle Menor, Kuya and Tina. I love when we all travel together! They help out so much with the kids and Hman and I can have some quiet time :) Background paper is K&Co, birdie paper is DCWV, green paper is Rusty Pickle. The black strip says "Road Trip", I think it's from Lil Davis? Wow..old school Scrapworks titlework on a journaling block from the Color Me Miki Jan kit, as well as the tickets. And a bunch of other random stuff.

After walking around a bit, we had lunch at Shellfish Co. LOL...my parents and aunt and uncle took a picture just like the one on the website..LOL! Yummy crab! This is probably the least favorite of my pages! Oh well, it's done. Chipboard from Basic Grey; die cuts from Making Memories. Background paper again from Me and My Big Ideas; pink papers are KI. And using packaing again..the brown spotted piece from Imaginisce.

This is it for now. I have more to show you, but then I'll be going out of order and that gives me stress, haha. Let me finish up the other couple layouts, then I'll be posting all the layouts in multiple posts so you are not bombarded with dark, gloomy overcast. Seeing the layouts in order will feel as if you were looking at the album right next to me...yapping....and yapping away! How fun for you!! :)

Color Me Miki--Feb kit!!!

Hello everyone! Happy Friday!! Today I would like to share with you the layout and mini book I created with the Color Me Miki FEBRUARY kit. This kit is super SWEET and full of scrappy goodness. Just look at the Maya Road chipboard cupcakes in there! And the Pink Paislee...those rubons go on like buttah!!

I want to start with the mini album. I used a We R Memory Keepers 5x7 album. I've been collecting mini albums for a while and they have just been sitting around. I thought it would be perfect for all the event photos I have sitting around! And I got this done in just a few days...only working on it a couple hours at a time. I also used the Add On-American Crafts Mini Marks. Totally gives that special something without adding alot of bulk!

This mini album is about Great America in San Jose. Every year we get a season pass. It's a great way to beat the summer boredom. It's only about 30 minutes away from us and it makes a fun treat for the kids...and a bribe! haha! It was Memorial Day weekend in 2008. Heintje's sister and the kids came up from LA. This is the front cover outside our house. My mom with a quick visit before we left for the day. Also a close up..I have no idea why the colors are so off, but it's the same page. You can see the AC rubons..the rows of hearts! It's layered over the KI sheer.

Next I'll just show you a bunch of pages and the details. There are 18 pages in all, but you'll have to come over to see the whole book...haha!

More rubons...in the close up you can see the flower rubon. I added the gem as a center.

The tickets were super fun! Here I folded them up and stapled it to the top edge of the page.

Finally the back cover. Mama's having fun on the roller coaster, too! haha!

Solvang/Santa Barbara pt.1

Hello everyone...happy February! I can't believe how much scrapping I've been doing. It's totally exciting and our poor household, it's been neglected! At least I'm almost done with the Solvang/Santa Barbara getaway. I only have 5 more layouts to create and I'm done...stick a fork in it..baby!

To help with the layouts, I joined a challenge at Willow Traders...use a kit! I've had this Polka Dot Whimsy (PDW) kit for a while. I bought it from a fellow Willow a few months ago. I really love PDW kits, the owner totally packs the embellies and lots of fun goodies! This is a partial kit, I've already created a layout shown in the previous post. And I took out all the other stuff that I did not want or had dups of. Here is the kit I started with for the challenge.

And these are the pages I created with it...5 pages! And I think I still had some left over pieces. You'll also see the alpha in upcoming posts. I used up MOST of the letters! Woohoo! Let's start with the first page of the album. We stayed at a time share in Solvang. Heintje and I passed by here once before-on the way home from LA. It was Jordan's first road trip to LA, he was a 17 months old at the time. The place still looks the same, haha!

The next day we spent the day at Santa Barbara. It was only about an hour away. Here is my silly girl. She just loves to pose! This is outside of Paseo Nuevo Mall in Santa Barbara. *please note, pages are not in chronological order*

Then we walked to the Santa Barbara Courthouse. We did not realize how far it was from the mall. But it was beautiful once we got there and we were able to see the whole city!

After the mall and courthouse, we headed back to the car. Unfortunately, it would not start! We had to call a tow truck and he tried to fix it with his portable battery jump start thing, but it wasn't charged enough to get us started. Thank goodness my brother was there with Tina's brother's car. We were able to start it, but we still needed to get the alternator replaced. We followed the guys to the shop and ate dinner while they were fixing it. What an adventure! While in the parking garage, the kids made the most of it and had a picnic in the back..LOL! But man oh man..it was HOT and the sun was directly facing us!

Finally, the last layout I created with the kit. This was taken at Santa Ynez Mission in Solvang. I guess it's spelled with both "Y" and "I". Oh well..LOL! It was perfect that there was a church close by that we can attend and at the same time, perfect for Jordan since he had a mission project for 4th grade! We used this picture for our Christmas card this year. It thought it was suitable, esp since they are all wearing greenish/red...haha! The first word in the journaling, "enjoying", was written by Jasmin..then she got lazy..LOL!

I've got a bunch more layouts for you..and they are all scanned and saved! I'll post again in a few days and let you digest this for now. I'm hoping to get the rest of the layouts done this week...WOOHOO! Finally...something is accomplished! Yes, I'm still working on Holy Land..and Lake Tahoe...and life....oh and that darn Hawaii trip we took back in 2004! LOL! Take care home skillets!

Woohoo, another post in the same week. I'm rockin' and rollin'! The new year has totally motivated me to scrap and be productive in the different areas of life. I'm trying to de-clutter the house. Sell a bunch of my scrap goodies and finally make that room into a playroom/office and I'm learning to be smart about money. I hope all this inspiration will stick for a while, I love all the work I'm getting done!

Here are a few layouts I did last year, I'm just now getting around to posting it. I have done so much in the past few weeks, I love it! I'll have to scan them and post them soon. Right now I'm participating in a "Use a Kit" challenge over at Willow Traders. I'm also finishing up my designs for the upcoming February kit for Color Me Miki, you guys are going to love the kit...it's SWEET!!! Now, on to the layouts.

Remember our trip to Lake Tahoe last year, like in May..LOL. Yes, I'm still doing layouts with it. I'm hoping to finish by this year's May! haaha! This is a layout I made for my Mom, hence the smaller size. Really simple, just a sheet of cardstock, the blue PP is actually packaging from a K&Co sticker sheet, and a scrap piece of Making Memories die cut paper. I abolutely LOVE LOVE the LAX glitter Thickers from American Crafts. I love how it could look fun--like in this layout--or elegant. I created the flowers at the bottom, esp love the layered action with the demin fabric.

Here we are on the beach at Lake Tahoe. No matter how cold it was, the kids still loved it! Started off using a Polka Dot Whimsy kit, then added a bunch of stuff I had laying around. Didn't have another "o" for Magpoc, so used a heart.

My family. I love when we travel together. It makes life good!

Finally a preview of layouts to come. I've started working on Santa Barabara/Solvang pictures. We took this trip Sept. of last year. We went for my Dad's bday getaway. Here we are on Stearn's Wharf. I could finally use all those "road trip" type embellishments I have..LOL!

Color Me Miki---Jan kit--Gretel

Sorry for the delay. It's been a couple of those weeks! Not to mention our weekend getaway to North Hollywood to throw off our schedule! In my last post I was excited about our 70degree weather. Well, we are now back in winter mode with 50 degree weather and rain, rain, rain! At least the rain is nourishing our hills and filling our reservoirs. :)

Now on to the layouts. In a previous post, I showed you a few layouts I created using the Hansel kit from Color Me Miki, in this post, I will show you the Gretel kit. Can you say....SWOON!

This picture was taken on Thanksgiving. It's getting more and more difficult to get a "good" picture of all 3 kids now! haha!

Finally the last layout from the kit. I totally love this picture of Jasmin. It was taken outside of Longs Drugs in Clear Lake! I remember my friend Suzy took a picture of her daughter in a pose like this and I wanted to do something similar. Man oh man...Jasmin is so photogenic, I love it!

And here is a sketch for the "You Electrify Me" layout. I got the idea for the title from a song, but I can't think of it right now. It's not the name of the song, but it's part of the lyrics and it just totally sticks in my mind. If you kow what the song is, I'd be ever so grateful if you told me....THANKS!

Bring on the sunshine!!

Hello everyone! Here in sunny CA it's been a whoppping 70 degrees and I love it! Even Jasmin wore shorts yesterday..girlfriend thinks it's always summer! This weekend we will be heading south to No. Hollywood. I heard it's in the 80's there. Better make sure to bring some tank tops!
The sunshine has me thinking of summer and how I miss it so much. I have a few layouts to share with you today about the wonderful season of sun and shine and no worries!

First off, meet my cave dwellers. We have a cool cave in the park by our house and the kids love to hang out in there--like their little club or even to cool off on a hot day. I don't really like it, I feel it's so dirty...but oh well..LOL! Making Memories PP as a background, a couple strips of scraps and clusters of embellies. The main flower in the middle is from a Scarlet Lime kit as well as the journaling card.

My first born, my sensitive dude, my sweet boy. Throwing around the football and catching rollie pollies! I cut a 12x12 Fancy Pants transparency at a diagonal and used half on the layout. The other half is on Joey's layout below. This is just a simple 1 sheet of PP and the half sheet of transparency laid over it. 3 pictures and a scattering of embellies. Oh..and some gems to enhance the swirls on the PP. Just about 15 minutes tops! Gotta love it!

Here is my pretty girl. She often has the giggles...or her infamous "mad face." She is so unpredictable and only 5. Not looking forward to the teen years, I won't be able to handle it! ACK! October Afternoon background PP, then some scraps. Cluster of flowers and gems and other fun stuff!! LOVE the swirl gems the best! Finished it off with Autumn Leaves journaling chipboard. Oh..the "summer" from the title...super old school EK Success from like 5 years ago! haha!

Finally my baby. He'll forever be my baby even when he's 81! Sorry Joey, that's just how it's gotta be. This is the layout that uses the other diagonal half of the Fancy Pants transparency. Did some cutting out of PP--the bracket from Teresa Collins PP, the butterfly from CBX, and the stars from Prima Dude!

Finally, this is not from summer, it's from Dec. Look how big he's grown!! *sigh* NOOOO! He's still my baby. At least he's got the smile down and is kinda looking at the camera..LOL. I totally got the idea for this layout from this lady, I even used the same PP (although my scanner is whack..LOL. I loved that she included the scalloped edging on the layout, so I trimmed off the edge of the other side so it will fit in the protector (that is whenever I get around to sticking these layouts in an album..LOL) Then I used the strip that I cut off to ground the picture.

Color Me Miki---Jan kit--Hansel

Hello everyone! I wanted to share with you the fun new kit from Color Me Miki. For January, Terri released 2 kits, a boy themed and a girl themed. This post will be layouts using the boy theme--Hansel. Here is an image for your viewing pleasure :)

Here is the first layout I created with the kit. I cut the background PP smaller than 12x12 so I can have the circle PP extend past the page without going past the page protector.

I love this layout. Totally makes me miss summer and our lazy afternoons. We would just hang out on the front lawn. The boys would throw the football around. Jassy would eat..LOL..and I would just snap away. Oh, how I miss summer!

Finally, here is my Sour Patch Kid! He might be a little sour on the outside, but he really is a sweetie on the inside! LOL. And a sketch to jumpstart your week :)

Man, I've totally neglected the poor blog. I wanted to show you our Christmas card this year, but it's at home and I'm at work. I know I won't get to it when I get home, so...it will just have to be posted when I remember, even when it's in the middle of June or something..LOL! Sorry!

Anyway, I have lots and lots of layouts to share with you. I've gotten some mojo back, I've been a scrapping MACHINE! and I love it! I've been totally trying to use up lots of stuff I've had sitting around. Packages of embellies that have been partially used, alpha stickers, even scraps of PP. I use a whole sheet as a background, then I dig into my scrap bin for anything else. And the best part...I haven't scrap shopped in a long long time!! Heintje, did you read that...I haven't scrapped shopped :) ** but that doesn't rule out my Walgreens addiction! **

It's been a while since I've worked on the Holy Land trip. I was really hoping to have them all done in 2008..oh well..hopefully this year. I'm caught up with the Sea of Galilee, next I'll be working on our Baptism in the Jordan River.

From a continuation from this post, I have 1 extra Mount of Beautitudes layout. Hee-hee..one of the bottom photos is Kuya Greg using Kuya as an example how he will perform the baptism on the Jordan River. I think Kuya was a little surprised at the "dip"..LOL!

Now, here are a bunch of layouts on the Sea of Galilee. We went to the Yigal Allon Museum which housed an ancient boat similar to one Jesus would have sailed on.

The Sea of Galilee is really a peaceful place to be. There was one point when a bunch of birds were resting on the water. As we sailed by, they all flew away together. It was such a beautiful sight. You can really feel the presence of Jesus around us.

The sailor guides put up a Filipino flag, it was really cool! They also played songs and our group danced traditional Jewish dances. I regret not participating, it would have been fun!

Before or after (I can't remember now), Kuya Greg gave his daily sermons, Jordan told the story about the Zacchaus and the Sycamore Tree. I breifly mentioned it in this post when I showed the layout with the Sycamore Tree. GREAT job, Jordan!! I'm so proud of you for not only knowing the story, but remembering and being able to share with us. They say you fully don't understand something unless you can explain it to others. And we were so blessed that he shared the story with all of us!!

Finally, here is our super cute sailor dude. The sweater he was wearing was perfect! We should have put on Kuya's hat. He would have really looked like a lil' sailor dude. He was just having the best time. Looking at the birds, the water, running around all over the boat, and eating Ate Helen's crackers..imported straight from the Philippines!

A very close friend has lost her husband. Michelle is an amazing woman and through all everything she has been going through, she has been such an inspiration. Her message is simple...Love your family, life is too short, you never know what will happen.

Marshall, you will be greatly missed. You fought a tough war and won many battles. Please keep Michelle, Angel, Daniel, and all her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Random layouts

I cannot believe it's already Dec 11! Exactly 2 more weeks to Christmas and we haven't even sent out our cards yet. Heintje will be buying something special for them today and hopefully we can get them out this weekend. *sigh*..."Life moves pretty fast. If you don't slow down and look around, you might miss it"....where is that quote from??....I feel like I'm about to miss Christmas!

Here are a few layouts I had sitting around that I haven't posted yet. They are OLD! I think they were created during summer?? I have about 5 layouts that I need to scan, hopefully I'll get them up in a few days :) THANKS soo much for looking!

This was created for a challenge...use white space. Pretty simple, just 1 sheet of PP for the background, a few scrap strips of PP for a border. And finally using up my rubons. They are from Daisy D, I love them! Goes on like buttah! ha! The photo was taken at the SF airport when Ate Monette and her family went back home to the Philippines. They were here for about 6 weeks...wow, what a GREAT vacation!

Here is my scrapping partner. He is such a night owl, and stays up almost as late as I do, yikes! In order to get some things done, I give him a bunch of stickers and he's a happy camper. I've also included his "work of he{art}!"

I've always been known to not match my wardrobe. When I was younger my friends would constantly tell me I was a "Fashion NO". It's still true for now, fashion is not one of my strong suits and I just wear what is most comfortable, esp when I have chase down a 2 year old all day long. Well, that mis-matching flows down to my scrapping, too! I hardly ever match the papers together or to the picture. That is okay with me and I love using up scraps! I don't even remember what I put on this layout, just what I had sitting around from previous ones done. My 2 sweeties totally in AWE of the spinning toy. They were literally in that position for a good 10 minutes!! Ahh..the simple joys in life!

The last 2 layouts were challenges from Homegrown Summer Stash Buster. And I think I also combined it with the Willow Traders Scrapvivor challenges, even though I was already out..haha.

This layout needed to use "laugh" in a title and buttons. The quote reads: You fill our days with {laughter}. My crazy daughter at Pier 39. It was a hot hot day, 90degrees at 9pm in SF!! The heat must have gotten to her..haha!

Finally, the challenge here was to use a summer picture. What better way to portray summer than a swimming photo from our first Summer Swim day. Used a bunch of KI goodies from the $12 (clearance) clipboard pack from Joann's. Gotta love great prices!!

Color Me Miki!!!

Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. This year we had the celebration at my cousin's house, Kuya Rino. It was also his birthday and Ate Chay threw him a surprise party. Hopefully he was genuinely surprised even though he kept seeing some familiar faces around the neighborhood..haha!

After a designing hiatus for a few months, I am very excited that Terri asked me to be be a part of the Color Me Miki design team. I am so honored to be a part of the club and to work with her awesome kits. It's the perfect size and she mixes manufacturers that coordinates wonderfully. I love the bright happy kits and they were so fun to work with. Thank you, Terri, for this great opportunity!!

I was able to start with the Dec kit. I love the pink and green mix, great for the Holidays or not! Here is a picture of the kit..filled with Pink Paislee and KI Memories. My favorite part of the kit was the cool Prima Transparency that had a bunch of nested frames!

Here is a quick card I created with the scraps from the layout. I totally LOVE the tree PP from Pink Paislee. I cut them out individually and applied Stickles. You can get the Stickles from the add-ons.

Here are 2 layouts using the frames transparency..I love that thing!! I cut the big circle out from the Cousins layout below. I also cut a small piece of the circle and used it in Jasmin's overload layout.

Finally here is the Cousins layout. I used pictures from our trip to Lake Tahoe back in May..yes, I'm pretty behind! haha! I covered up the circle with a piece of cardstock.

BAS Anniversary Crop, Mount of Beatitudes

FINALLY!! Yes, I finally scanned these layouts from the Bay Area Scrappers Anniversary Crop!! It's only a few months behind..haha. And I never did do the journaling I was meaning to do...I was caught up in stuff..LOL!

After leaving the Dead Sea, we headed off to Tiberias. We stayed at a really nice hotel, Gai Beach Hotel. We weren't supposed to, but plans changed...for the better at least :) I love this picture of Jasmin on the bus. Images like this is how we spent our time on the road. Hours on the bus, driving around from city to city. At least we were able to walk around and not strapped in with a seat belt. I was so proud of the kids. The early morning wake up calls, their not so usual breakfasts, and being up and ready by 7am was not easy. But they did it..they did it for 15 days!! At least we were able to bring along hard boiled eggs..haha!! But they would only eat the white part..haha! Check out the Sea of Galilee in the bottom picture...positively beautiful!!

First stop of the day was Mount of Beatitudes. Here is where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount and shared the Beatitudes. "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God" Matthew 5: 3-11.

I have a couple more layouts from the crop, but I still need to scan them..LOL!

WT Scrapvivor #7 and Petra, Jordan

Haha!! FINALLY!! This is the last challenge of Scrapvivor you will see. I officially ended at #7 although I did a couple layouts for #8 and #9. This challenge was to use ribbon. Easy peasy, but I just ran out of time. I think this was during my birthday weekend...and well, I had other priorities..LOL!! THANKS soo much, Annette for hosting a wonderful challenge. I got so many layouts and cards DONE! I think I got in total about 40 cards and 80 layouts...in about 25 days! It sure put a dent in my STASH and helped me bust out the Holy Land Trip!!! YIPPEEE!!

Now, I haven't scrapped in so long. Most of the layouts you've been seeing are OLD stuff that I've been slacking on posting. Like these layouts were since June..haha! Hopefully I'll get back to scrapping soon. I am sooo in withdrawals! Take care everyone and thanks for visiting :)

Beware, the layouts are not fabulous and there are really no techniques or cool things about them. But they are DONE! Not only was I able to get the memories documented in the books, but I was able to relive our special trip as I remembered the good times (and BAD..haha)

Here is the group photo we took in front of the Treasury.

Sorry, the photos are horrible. I got them directly out of the camera and printed at Snapfish. I really don't like their quality, it's darker than I want, but when printing 1500 photos, I was not picky anymore..haha!

This page is pretty cool. It's interactive and able to hold a few more pictures than would normally fit. I didn't want to crop any of those top 4 photos, so I staggared them ON the page protector and taped the edges. So you can FLIP through the photos!! I also had Jordan journal on this page how he felt about the experience.

This page was from the next day. We passed the Israeli border easily with no problems so we were ahead of schedule. Our guide decided to take a little detour and show us the Sycamore tree where Zacchaus climbed and watched Jesus. This was extra exciting for Jordan since he just learned about him in school! And for him to actually visit the tree...WOW!! Later during the trip, he gave a sermon. It was so cute!! He told the whole story, we were so proud of him!!
